  • Re: FJ Cruiser for Australia

i'm loving the FJ's. if only the mrs had the same passion.

although, she did say if i could afford one, that i could get one, but catch is, she would claim the prado.

i'm 200% sold on the ute choppy one, and before anyone says it, i don't care that the tray is useless or impractical. i like it.

and 35"s seem to be no sweat for the FJ's campared to the prado's.

and just for fun, an FJ run.

Yeah I must say they are extremely sexy mate. I think if sales go well over here, they may even put the D4D in for future releases. Thats just a rumour I feel is worthy of spreading. Alot of US chaps would jump at the diesel if it was released. I feel it would suit it to a tee.

          fark! good effort there.

this may be the trend, buy an FJ, 3" lift and 33-35" tyres off the bat.

i've got tears of envy and jealousy.

I want one of these so badly, but I don't know if I could bring myself to part with the Prado to do it.
Ah well, I'll just have to keep looking at Darren's build-up to get me through...

If they do release a diesel version wont they have to call it a BJ cruiser?

Took the wife in to toyota today for a look, she still doesn't like it, but I'll keep trying.

They're getting around Brissie regularly now too.
Yesterday saw a blue one and a yellow one on the west side (Indooroopilly area) and last week saw a blue one heading south, south of Kilcoy. Haven't seen any modded ones yet

The modifcations will include: OME lift, Long Ranger Tank, ARB Bar, Dual Batt, Lightforce, UHF, etc....etc.... From a previous 120 Prado owner, I am very excited about getting this car. apparently aus delivered FJ's have a different front end meaning that the ARB bar work designed for the US market, will not fit our AU FJ's.

as for suspension, OME have not confirmed fitment to the Aus delivered FJ either.

anyway, hope to see pics up when you get it.

Any documentation on this? Toyota changed the frame & suspension from the 120 to the 150 and is the same as the US spec, just not the pre-2010.

as you all probably know, ARB 'borrowed' an FJ from the US a while back to develop gear for the US market. all was good until they got hold of an Aussie version, and all their gear didn't fit. i suspect it is something to do with the chassis mounting, as the front bar will be the same.

as with suspensions, i can't see why the current gear, both for the Prado 150 and the OME gear shouldn't fit. i know the 150 has a height split with their coils, but i can't see why the FJ would. who knows.
