Still picking up a few viruses after visiting Pradopoint.

Tried some of the virus screening programs, such as Symantec, but they were not detecting anything.

Used Spybot program, which has been detecting and working.

Yowie.

I won't pretend to be a computer guru or expert on Spybot, But I believe that Spybot Search and Destroy only detects spyware such as key stroke trackers etc etc not viruses.
I am led to believe that Spybot also often flags certain scripts, java and events as suspicious or as risks when they are not.

Happy to be corrected

We have no other reports of virus activity, but of course we need anything reported immediately.

All clean at this end.

I would suggest trying something like AVG (free) anti virus, I know heaps who have that and swear by it (even though its free)!

I did some investigation and it appears one of the google ad. servers has been compromised. Whenever the compromised ad. is displayed the malicious code tries to launch a script on your machine.

Using a hosts file such as this http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm will help block the attack.

I've looked everywhere on my Mac and I can't find this virus thing. What does it look like?

AVG should stop the viruses but keep it right up to date; Malwarebytes should stop all malware (keep that up to date too as often as possible) so have those running all the time. Use Spybot and SpywareBlaster to clean the rubbish off every few days or weeks and you should stay clean. Both Malwarebytes and AVG will warn you if they see something suspicious and block it if that is what you want which is most times. All these are free.

AVG should stop viruses but should always be kept up to date; Malwarebytes should stop all malware but should also always be kept up to date. Both of these should always be running. You can maintain your cleanliness by using Spybot and SpywareBlaster to remove the junk every few days or weeks. When they detect something suspect, Malwarebytes and AVG will both alert you and stop it if that is what you want, which is usually the case. These are each free. geometry dash
