    Light b double

    I have been trying to figure out how to get the camper and my boat to Double Island without doing two trips????

    And the answer............................................ ..

    Don't laugh but this is legal in many states in the US and with bigger rigs than that in the photo

      ummm, thats a 100 series....

      There was a law loophole that used to allow this a fews years back. I remember a friend of mine towing a rally car on a trailer with the service 6x4 box trailer behind that.
      I think that loophole has been closed, but maybe not!

            thats bloody gold, now if that was in NSW they would say, bend over and touch your toes, here goes with no lube, ie throw the book at you and throw away the key. cheers samo
            had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

              Similar set up here in Perth somewhere - from memory its based on a patrol, each to their own.

              I wouldn't want to be trying to tow double up imagine the strain on gearboxes & engines etc. Stability would be my biggest concern you get blown around by a semi as it is with a caravan how you would fair with a 2nd trailer on is a big unknown probably deadly

                Many years ago when I worked in Port Hedland a friend brokedown on his way back from Broome near Sandfire roadhouse. Rang us from there asking if we could drive out with a car trailer and pick up his Landcruiser. What he forgot to tell us was he had a trailer on with 3 motorcross bikes on it. We just put the cruiser on the trailer with the bike trailer still hooked up towing behind. That was in the early 80's and I think the cops them would have been to busy laughing at it to worry about booking us.

                  What size boat are we talking, if it is just a small tinny, then put it on the roof of the car, and if you need the trailer put it on the top of your camper.

                    When I went to the USA a few years back there were dozens of large F-350, Chevies, Dodge Ram pickups, etc all with big duellies at the rear towing fullsize triple axle caravan/trailers with a full size 4 door sedan hanging off an A-frame behind all that.

                    And they were doing around 90MPH too!

                      Yep we know how to make it interesting over there. I had a Chevy that would just walk away with a load on it. I also drove some Dodges fully loaded with a triple axle cattle trailer on it and get up and walk off at 60 mph...not a problem. Shame the road on and off road are not built for the duallies as I loved my and hated to have to get rid of it. But the 454 cuin engine was not friendly on at the gas pump...the dodges were much better.

                        It's only a 399 proline angler but having a full floor with bait tanks and the like make it a little heavy for the roof.
