Navman MyEscape III

I have just purchased a MyEscape III GPS for my Prado. I am experiencing a couple of ‘operator issues’ which I can’t seem to resolve with the manual or FAQs.

1. When I power off my turning of the ignition it gives me as expected a message of Do you want to LOCK or SLEEP. It doesn’t matter what option I choose when I power on the next time it just comes up with that option and the touch screen does not work. I have to turn the machine off and start again.
2. If I switch the ignition off it says it will auto switch off in 10 seconds as one expects do I want to LOCK or KEEP USING. It doesn’t matter which option I choose when I switch it back on it has it has this same message on the screen and the touch screen won’t work.
3. I have a reversing camera installed and this works fine.
4. The GPS unit is plugged into a ciggy power adapter which provides continuous power when the ignition is on. I do have an isolation switch and I have turned this off when powering down or sleeping but it seems to make no difference.

My former GPS the MyEscape II used to go to sleep and when I started the car it would resume where the system had left off.

Any clues?

I brought one but i don't have your issue, have you tried hooking it up a computer and updating it, mine updated as soon as i installed the software and plugged the GPS in.

Have downloaded latest updates. No joy with the problem.

My Navman (different model) does that if there is "noise" in the power supply (ie quickly switched off = on = off).

Are your connections sound?

To put navman in a suspended state briefly press the power button

When you next turn it on it will return to last screen

Bit of a pain but worth a try

Right.
I have a EZY270LMT and it is plugged into cigarette lighter as is yours.
When I turn off the iginition a message comes up along the lines of "do i want to keep using unit" "yes or No".
I select No and when I turn iginition it opens at the map screen which was there when i turned iginiton off.
What happens if you just turn off iginition

Same as yours but when I turn on again. It has the 'do you want to keep using unit' message frozen. This is the issue - whatever is the last message is frozen in time.

I have sent a message to Navman support but they haven't responded. I am getting frustrated as the MyEScape II used to work fine up until I replaced it about 2 weeks ago.

I sent an email 4 days ago but have not heard back.

Will call tomorrow and report back. This is very unusual.

Might have something to do with my reversing camera.

Got the email which said use RECOVER and reinstall everything. Now working as advertised. GREAT.
