Seems that Des Newman has released a new version of OziCE. latest version is 2.33 and hopefully this release was inspired by a number of issues reported to him that showed a limition og OziExplorer on the newer hires screens.

        The new additions address:
        • Fixed issue where the track point time in the track log file was not being stored in UTC time. [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • The time zone is now stored in the track log file, the next version of PC OziExplorer will use this entry to display the track points with the time they were collected. [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • Added support for the Microsoft "managed" GPS interface for Pocket PC's / Smartphones. If your PDA has a "Managed" GPS then it will always be found first and used when the "Auto" GPS configuration option is specified. If you do not want to use the "Managed" GPS then the GPS port must be selected manually. [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • New configuration options have been added in "General Settings" to allow sizes to be specified for the following items (useful for the devices with high pixel density screens).[list:31jjrzga]
        • Size of the font used for the "Standard menus" [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • Size of the Dialogs [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • Size of the Toolbars [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • Size of the Menubar [/*:m:31jjrzga]
        • Size of the Keyboard (wince core devices only)[/*:m:31jjrzga]
[/*:m:31jjrzga][*]The screen pages are now resized by scaling to fit the screen rather than by moving the parameters - this givers a better look. [/*:m:31jjrzga][*]New API functions have been added for "Start / Stop Navigation" and "Load Route File".[/*:m:31jjrzga][/list:u:31jjrzga]

Looks like Des has been working hard. With the patch the Matt released and the update to OziCE from Des the new HiRes systems should be unbelievable.

I've been having some trouble with Igo8. It's slow to refresh map screens and items such as roads, poi's and street names keep dropping on and off the map screen.

I also get the odd "out of memory" error on start up. (WindowsCE text box)

OziExplorer and Navpol run without issue.

I'm running Igo 8.3.4.xxxx (Aug 2009 build) and R17 maps (although I have the same issue with my older R16 maps)

            Any ideas?

Are you running a skin other than the standard? What about other add ins? I had an issue running igo 8.3.... on my 4.3 with memory issues but I changed to a simpler skin (Riks Skin I think) and removed some of the addin I tried and wiped out about 100Mb of crap and it runs fine now. Forget which skin I tried but it had oddles of addins available. Looked real flash but ran like the crappers on my unit. May be a different issue there Mick but worth a shot.

Thanks Nick, I'll look into it. I've added/changed many things so you could be right. I'll hack it back down to basics and see how it runs.

Mick I think you've jinxed me.. my iGo well and truly locked up today, the only thing displaying on my nav was red and blue bars. All other functions working OK.

I haven't had any out of memory alarms like you, but i've had iGo restart twice while nagivating. After the reboot it works as normal. Problems have only started since upgrading to R17. I think ill upgrade iGo to the latest version when i have some spare time and see how it goes.
                  Cheers,Jase

Ill get some more version info hopefully this weekend so we can compare notes.

Mine seems OK if I just run the map screen, but if I enter a route it just goes to pieces. I reverted back to the R16 maps but it's still does it just not as badly. The Igo program seems to be taking up all the processing power of the unit. I'll try what Nick said and get it back to basics and see if that helps.

                        Hi Folks,
I am sure I have read about this in the past but do you reckon I can find it now. The time on my unit is not correct. It seems to be reset by the gps after I set the time. It is wrong in both the unit as well as in IGO8 (IGO8 will just be taking it from the unit). I though the gps would set the time zone but I assume this is what is going wrong. Has someone found a fix for this?

There is a setting in iGo to suck the time out of the GPS data stream. The issue here is the standard time zones setup in iGo does not includ all of the time zones correctly. Seeing that down at the Mount then SA time for you which is incorrect as I believe it is set as an offset of +9:00. MickL modified this in the system data to correct the offset.

You could alternatley disable iGo from updating the time and set it manually.

I think this may have been the link you were after:

Thanks Nick, I found the code that needed to be changed however it was the same as what Mick changed it to  I think it is coming from the unit itself. I believe it is updating the time from the GPS before it goes into IGO8 so is incorrect to start with. Is there a way of changing the zone of the unit itself?

Maybe you don't have iGo updating the time then and setting the zone. I know you can do it in iGo. I don't have a DigOptions unit so can't say what is avilable in the menus for doing this BUT there should be an option for this in the settings somewhere. My 4.3" jobbie has it but unfortunatley it's in Madarin. Chinglish would have been better but alas no.

EDIT: Just fired up iGo and had a look in the settings. In Regional Settings under Time Zone Settings have update time from GPS BUT make sure you have disable the Autotime Zone. My autotime zone here in Adelaide gives me Sydney time. I then manually set the timezone to Adelaide +9:30 and she is sweet.

I'm not running the most uptodate version of iGo so there may be some differences and I also have a recentish version of Riks Skin sittin on top of the basic iGo layout.

amusement parks...also i am running the new dimka skin 1139...everything running fanatastic,
unfortunately there is alway a but.....i have every option possible turned on (cameras, speed limits, lane
information, driver alerts etc..) i cannot use the tts voices(susan). i am using the australian jennifer voice
and the accent is aussie....the ttsloq file is very big (125mb...)

the problem is that our unit has 64mb od sdram and 128mb of storage.
if there was a way of increasing the sdram to 128mb there are some fantastic skins to
                                use....

Also i have noticed (i am running most of the music from usb stick) the unit will not read any
cd's dvd's nothing....it just comes up with READ and that is it....if matt from digiptions is reading this
