Thanks Scooter, your setup with the camera near the number plate is the way I am heading and the reports on the total package are very positive. At some stage I will have to stop researching and do something!!!

Can anyone help me out, I am struggling to update the maps etc on the unit, but cannot work out how.
Where do I download maps, and how do I load them onto the sd card?

Matt sent out an email recently for a map update...did you get it? Not sure what it did to the maps as I havent delved into it....might be worth checking out?

Hi All

Firstly a great thread. It took me most of the weekend to trawl through it. I've got a couple of questions about the unit which I hope the collective wisdom here will be able to answer.

1. Is there a front 3.5mm stereo input jack? I understand that the ipod connection is via a cable which is hardwired behind the unit. I'm not that keen on this arrangement and would rather plug my Ipod in the front. Is this possible
2. Can the unit run an external USB harddrive? I was planning to load all my maps onto an external USB powered 500 GB HDD and leave this in the glove box rather than have a collection of SD cards.
3. How well does the unit support multi tasking? I believe that it will support dual zone playing. I plan to install DVD screens in my head rests and let the kids have their DVDs. Can I still have the GPS running as well as music and the DVD?

I cant talk for the TP09X1 as I have one of the lifestyle units (AVN11NI I think it was as its for a 95 series prado).
1. No there isnt a stereo input jack...the ipod connection is via a cable that plugs into the rear of the unit. You can then route the cable to wherever you want your ipod eg. glovebox, console
2. There is a USB cable too and can plug a USB harddrive into it. I have only plugged in a USB stick so not sure on the power output. Can try a hard drive tonight if you like to see if it powers it up ok? Not sure if you can run the maps from a harddrive or not (probably best to email Matt at digioptions to confirm?) as they are preloaded onto a microSD card.
3. Multi tasking is ok. ie you can run the Navi and then switch back to the radio/DVD/Ipod. There are dual zones but as I only have the front unit cant tell you how well it works with rear screens. What I have found is if you have the Navi on and a DVD, then the navigation software (for voice directions) will continually pause the DVD/Ipod/Radio and talk to you. The kids dont like this obviously so we tend not to use the voice directions very often!!!. You can have PIP (picture in picture) with the radio and navi running in a smaller PIP screen, which I found useful as I want the radio on and be able to see what is going on. I havent worked out if its possible to have the radio playing while the navi is at full screen though....if anyone knows how to then please let me know!!

ok I had a quick check last night....and to answer my own question (3.) you can play the radio while navi is at full screen via the zone option. Press the screen or the lock button that gets displayed and then choose the multitasking windows you want eg. ipod and navi.

I didnt plug a hard drive into the USB but from reading the doco from the ebay page it said it wasnt for a USB hard drive so it looks like just a USB stick (which are quite large these days).
Oh and according to my daughter her ipod nano (think its 3rd gen) gets charged via the ipod connection although I wasnt expecting it to be...but maybe it doesnt charge all ipods???

TP09x1 - I have found It does not charge the ipod or the iphone.
The USB plug at the front, is for additional mp3 folders etc as far as I am aware.

just checked with a portable hard drive on the usb cable...nope it doesnt power up the hard drive (probably not enough power going to it) so a USB stick it is.

Thanks Scooter. It would have been nice to be able to have run external HDD with all maps etc rather than have a collection of SD cards rattling around in the consol.

Hi all. I am looking to get the new unit AVN11TP off Matt (DIGOPTIONS) shortly. A few questions though if anyone could please answer for me. 1. Does anyone have any issues with radio reception on the new AVN11TP in a prado without having an aerial booster, 2. What do you think of the unit overall? 3. Whats the general view of the GPS maps, views and functions. .4. Is the unit easy to operate as there is alot of functions. Others views on this are greatly appreciated. Regards. Jeff

Hey all,
Just received and installed my AVN11TP. Problem is, within about 30 seconds of first power up, there is a green line on the screen running from top to bottom, about 1/3 of the way in from the right hand side. Any mode I choose it remains. Looks like a line of dead pixels. Have tried unplugging, resetting, everything in my power to remove, but it’s there. Has anyone experienced this, or know of a fix? If someone has Matt's contact details (phone number) and could PM would be greatly appreciated. Will wait for a while for any response before I uninstall from the vehicle.

Hi guys, I am re-installing a tp091x into my car, but for the life of me cant get the steering wheel controls to work.
everything seems to be connected properly, the "mode" button of the steering wheel works, bu the volume and search doenst, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
