Hi.
Im new to this group, so greetings everybody. I love my Prado so am going to enjoy reading the topics.
In Ocober last year I purchased a 2009 Prado Grande. It has the SatNav unit in it, which is OK, but not the best Ive used. I have a few questions about it that somebody may be able to assist me with:
1. Is it possible to manually engage the reversing camera without being in reverse? I know its probably not via the LCD/interface, but through the wires in the back. Ive not been able to find any technical documentation for these units. Must be a wire I can take "high" to display the camera.
2. On that note, is it possible to use that screen to display other information, such as a DVD, or PC output, etc?
3. I realise it's there for a reason, but is it possible to remove that nag screen with the I Agree on it when you turn the vehicle on? I'm an IT Tech, so would be keen to play with any programming of the unit if it were at all possible. There must be a way to do it.
4. Finally, with the handsfree phone system built-in to it, there is a button that is uspposed to be used to make calls - like a voice activation or something. The interface says it cannot be used, doesnt make sense really. Can anybody enlighten me on this device? The dealer doesnt know, and Toyota said to consult the manual - nothing in there.
Anyway, I hope to contribute back to the forum when I can, but if anybody can help me on these points I'd be grateful.
