Got this off another forum for anyone interested:

"Received a catalogue from that big orange outdoor adventure store today. They have the Garmin Oregon 200 with Topo Australia MSD for $299 RRP $759 (save $460). Ryda have them on sale for $465.They have been discontinued by Garmin."

saw that.. was about to do some investigation as to whether it would be a good replacement for my 12+ yo Lowrance handheld GPS...

I have the Oregon 300 and love it. Very accurate GPS, easy to use interface, works as well on-road as off.
Grab a RAM mount for the car for about $45 and you're set.

Look like Garmin is discontinuing a few of their Handheld Mapping GPS products.
The Oregon 200, 300 and 400 models are all listed as discontinued models on their website.
Like the Oregon 200 on sale at Anaconda, perhaps these other models will be also on sale soon.

Off topic a little, but I was recently checking out the new Nuvi models.
The new 3790 is the latest and looks very sleek indeed with all new wiz bang features like 3D buildings/terrain and speech recognition that listens to your voice commands for navigation.
