    Pride and Joy

    I own a '07 Prado GX D4D 6 speed manual. I bought her last July after I traded in my 2000 Prado which was pushed along by the well known 3.4 V6 5 speed. Both vehicles were preowned by government departments, which in saying the '07 Prado GX came with the government package - everything that a GLX has except cruise control. This Prado is named Pradi 2 as my original was Pradi. I had Pradi for 6 trouble free years, Pradi 2 I'm looking at having for 10 years before upgrading. The vehicle is primarily used for touring because that is what I love doing.

    So far I have added to my pride and joy:
    Exterior
    Tinted windows
    TJM Gold edition 2" lift
    Safari snorkel
    TJM roof basket
    Red centa awning (excellent touring idea)
    Dual batteries powered by the red arc isolator
    Light force XGT 240 HID 50watt
    One of my best additions is a Diesel care water separater - which is located next to the fuel filter ( an absolute must)
    GXL rims wrapped in Maxxis Big Horns 265x 70r 17"
    9000 pound winch

    Sorry for my ignorance but what is a diesel care water separater and what does it do

      its a secondry filter that the fuel goes through after your main f/filter its a lot finer filter with a glass inspection bowl attached to the bottom to inspect for water which then can be drained out.in the 120 series there are 2 threaded holes next to main filter mounting on inner guard which line up perfectly for secondry filter.bad fuel is a killer for D4D's injecters are a $1000 + each a throw so its well worth to spend about $360 roughly on one...

                did stereo up grade today ended being a bit of a job all wiring was solded and heat shrinked only way to do a wiring job i believe had to redrill brakets to get every thing to line up but im very happy with the outcome.stereo and HID's both purchesed at autobarn maitland saved an absolute fortune you'll be surprised ask for scotty...

                      an addition to my rig build up is my hema HN5I fantastic for touring especialy when exploring with the bread crumbing option hop on a track dont have to worry how many left or right turns you take if you dont come back out on to a main track just return navigate and the hema will take you back to where you began.i was going to get a VMS navigater but steered away due to the fact that hema do all there own mapping through out australia and have been for a very long time...

                        Nice rig build-up. Does the replacement stereo/inbuilt monitor have satnav as it appears in one of the photos? Does that not take offroad maps?

                          it is satnav caperble but i dont know weather it would do off road i bought after the hema i wanted a double din head unit to fill in the hole looks better then having a standerd head unit with the pocket underneath great for ipod connectivity throw the ipod in the glove box and operate it of the head unit screen...
