    OK thanks Brad, will check with the dealer. I'm assuming they passed our details on to Toyota as the new owners when we bought it but maybe not.

      Did a little work to the Prado today. I blew a low beam headlight a couple of weeks ago and struggled to get a replacement. Went to three Supercheap stores before giving in to paying $35ish for one bloody H11 standard globe! I had always had my eye on getting some good Philips globes, I have had them in some of my cars years ago and they lasted a looong time.

      I thought I'd try these:



      These were $107 delivered for the set from what was probably the fastest delivery from an eBay seller in history!!! Order placed at 14:24 yesterday 15/07/2014 and I received them this morning 16/07/2014 at about 10:30!

      I'm not trying to go for the 'HID' look, but I have liked the light these produced in the past, especially in the wet, they find the line markings a lot better. Some pics below in the day in my garage:







      Fingers crossed the low beams will be as bright as the normal globes. I know as you start to head towards a whiter light, output can be lower but as in the past I have enjoyed these globes and the Prado has better headlights than anything I have ever owned, I think it will be alright! Find out tonight/tomorrow morning when I finish night shift.

      Now to find globes for the parkers in the ARB bar that don't blow as soon as it looks like raining.... I'm not paying $95 for the ARB LED replacements....

        Also, I was poking around, looking for a spot to put my Scangauge II and found out that this flip down mirror pulls down further to reveal a sunglasses holder!!! You'd think after 17 months of owning the car, I'd know that....

                New brakes! I used Bendix 4WD pads and DBA 4000 series rotors. Expensive exercise! Car has done 119,000klm, probably had 50,000klm left in the old ones but they weren't feeling great. Still have to flush the fluid but ran out of time and had no fluid.

                So far so good, feeling better but defiantly needs a flush and bleed up. There's a pic of the part numbers if anyone needs them:

                  I have gained 50mm in the front and 60mm in the rear and now it is sitting perfectly level. They feel great, smoother than the stock stuff on normal roads and you can tell they are firmer on the bigger bumps. Only done about 20klm so far (to go get a couple of hard earned cans) but it feels good so far!


                  You can probably see the recovery points also.

                  Another interesting thing I never realised, my GX has 245/75/17 tyres on it, usually they have a 70 series profile from the factory.

                      Fitted so far:-Toyota Alloy bar,Redarc BDCD1220 battery managment system and dual power outlet,tracklander full length rack and ladder,Milford cargo barrier,Kaon transmission guard, UVP& Lower Shock mount Guards,Dobinson/Bilstein suspension,Toyota Bonnet and headlight guards,39ltr engel and an opposite lock stubby holder (from the old '80' series),Polyair Airbags,Pradopoint sticker,Gonefishin' custom Sidesteps.

                        So I took an 89mm holesaw to my car, for fun of course!



                        Fitted and a rough pic showing my new wheels ;-)



                        I am going to get new tyres for the FJ Cruiser rims, I currently have Cooper ST MAXX on Sunraysias that have around half tread left, was thinking of putting them on eBay to go towards the new rubber, rather than swapping them onto the FJ rims.



                        Also have some NARVA Ultima 225 driving lights to fit up when I get the time!

                            A lot of beer went into that cut, I can tell you!

                            The wheels not only look better, but they fit much better, use the Toyota wheel nuts and sit on the hub perfect. The steelies used to bend where the wheel nuts were done up.

                            Now to decide on new rubber! Thinking either Goodyear Duratrac, Toyo Open Country A/T II or BF Goodrich A/T. Too many decisions! I do like the Cooper ST MAXX I have on the steel rims now, but at the price they are worth and the sidewall crack issue I'm reluctant to get them again...

                                The hole looks like it needs to be an oval shape rather than round , or is it a camera illusion.
