      The door opens sideways, and is hinged on the right side.
      The window in the tailgate can be opened.

      A couple of pictures of the car today, freshly washed.

      I also added my new mats from Weather Tech in the United States. http://www.weathertech.com/
      Totally brilliant mats and saves the interior, for those who are concerned about such things'.

        My bad - thought it was a lift up tailgate. I think I would prefer a lift up tailgate, or a split one like the Landcruisers.

        So you don't carry a spare tyre around then? Hmmm... Lets just hope you don't get any sidewall damage.

          This image is from the construction of Arctic Trucks.

          Going to considering installation of the snorkel. I wonder how this works with TJM AIRTEC Snorkels in Norway? We have problems with snow. It is not possible to turn the upper part of these, but they are definitely the best looking option. Perhaps one can use a tennis sock over the top in winter '. Bullet Grill and gooseneck are excluded for me!.

            Looks tough folbjo120, would you have any issues with the snow there and water building up inside a snorkel??

              Why not consider the Safari?
              At least you can turn the inlet around to face the back.

                  Bjorn thanks for interesting info about the modification. At Russian forums they say that during modification some welding activities are take place at the frame for front suspension. I spoke by phone with Arctic Trucks specialist, he confirmed it and adviced that they do it for modification of front suspension. He didn't advised me by phone what they do exactly because it's their company secret or etc. May be they replace some elements of front suspension and by this case future maintenace at general Toyota dealer is impossible. Could you make photo of the front suspension welding modification at frame from bottom of your new car (Prado 150).

                  I'm from Kazakhstan, here we have opportunity to do the same modification, but the closest Arctic Trucks workshop is far from me, something about 3000km. The question is: Do I need to get a routine maintenance only at Arctic Trucks workshop o I can get the maintenance service at general Toyota dealer centre? This is one of my conserns in order to start the modification. Another one is the capacity of my petrol 2.7lt engine is 160HP, but the Arctic Truck specialist adviced me that it's not a problem, just performance of car will became little bit slowly and no need to worry. Your comments about the 2nd consern will be appriciated.

                        I have promised Arctic Trucks in Norway not to post pictures of how their modifications actually performed. I have lots of pictures for my own part, and was pleased to be able to follow the process. I do not think they perform welding on front suspension. What I can say with certainty is that they use a spacer on the springs. They also carry an extensive welding job to make the wheel wells bigger. In this regard, they move the front frame bracket for the chassis ca 10 cm backwards. After welding, everything is painted with acid primer. Then paint the two-component epoxy paint. After this it will be sprayed on something they call spray putty. This is done on both sides of all cave rooms, but inside they make use spray wax instead of spray putty.
                        Behind, there are also some welding and rear axle to be moved 2.5 cm backwards. Then one must also use longer rods that hold the rear axle. (linking arms'.)
                        So it's a big difference in a car with a 2 "rise seen on 33" tires, and an Arctic Trucks at 35. "At 37" it is even more. When the chassis is raised by 2.5 cm in addition to the 4 cm on the springs. The body work is similar at 35 and 37

                          Thanks for clarification. It's very useful. Now it's clear that after Arctic Truck (AT35) modification I will be able to use general Toyota Dealer Centre for the car maintenance.

                            Have you got a photo of the window opened up and the hinges, wondering if this could be installed on an Austrailian Prado?
