Thanks Matty. There's still more to come... Saving up for another vehicle at the moment so the Prado build is on hold. I have however set aside funds for a performance chip.

I've read all the threads on Pradopoint relating to performance chips and I've decided to go for a Steinbauer. Not a lot on the forums about it so I was wondering if there are any Victorians out there who can recommend an experienced fitter. I've found a mob in Dandenong who will supply, install and dyno tune for $1690. I've also been quoted by a store in Sunshine for $1490 for just the chip, not installed or dyno'ed. So I guess it's $200 to install and dyno. I've thought about installing it myself, though the downside of this is that I want to get it dyno'ed for the best tune to be selected. In the end it just seems worth it to pay for the extra labour and for the piece of paper at the end of it.

Did some calling around and it appears Steinbauer can supply a differently configured chip so that the chip can work with the cruise control. I was told that the difference in power is negligible between this and the standard setup. Having said that, I've placed one on order and will have it fitted and tuned within a week. The chip that's programmed to operate with cruise control came at no extra cost.

I also called Steinbauer who confirmed the reference wire is wire number 6 on the throttle cluster, and that it's white and blue. I've yet to take a look but I've got faith in the shop I'm getting it fitted at, as they've installed a couple of them to the 150s in the last 2 weeks so I'm not too concerned that they'll go splicing into random cables.

I'll be back to post a review as well as scans of the dyno run next week.

Absolutely, good to hear positive feedback on your fit out too!

Flick a couple pages back and you'll see I've already got a full Redback fit out

The Steinbauer was always on the list, just had to get a couple things done before it such as the exhaust and scangauge.

Redback fit looks great, any fuel changes? How much roughly for a fully installed job

Fuel savings was negligible. It might have saved a litre per 100km or so but I can't directly correlate it to the exhaust. Engine definitely breathes easier though. Turbo spools up a lot quicker so there turbo doesnt lag as much. Oh and I'm still lovin the turbo whistle I think I posted the prices in a few posts back... From memory it was about $1500 fitted.

Thanks. Most of the ideas were taken from fellow PradoPointers.

I think my next set of mods will focus on a tray with some DIY stuff that I have in mind... and... a set of rims. I don't really like what Speedy Wheels have to offer... Ideally, I'd like to get a set of Pro Comps but I don't think that would keep it legal. Would appreciate some input on this, otherwise I might just have to settle for a set of Speedys.

This is my 1,000th post!!! What better place to put it than where it all started.

It's been enjoyable reading and writing to you all. Thank you to everyone for your awesome: tips (despite making my wallet lighter), walk-throughs, petitions, build ideas, trip reports, stories etc that has taken Prado ownership to a whole new level. The forum has been a daily read for me since I took delivery of my Prado some year and a half ago. PradoPoint wouldn't be the same without the constructive and supportive community that we are apart of.

I hope the next 1,000 posts will be as fun and exciting as the last.

I always look in on your build up thread when it comes up in the "Whats New" list of posts.
You were one of the first Guys to start the build up of a 150 series and have enjoyed following it with interest.
