  • camera covers

Back in my old film SLR days i had a case/cover that was custom made for the camera.
It protected the body of the camera with a cover that flipped over to cover the lens and rest of the camera when not in use.
Having just bought a Nikon DSLR D3200 I am looking for something similar. The ones that i had on my Film SLRS were branded pentax (I used pentax cameras at the time) but i saw them with all the other brand names on them.
Does any body know where I can source one?
    Any info would be helpfull

    regards

    Hi Gerry
I have seen neoprene/wet suite covers that may do the trick. Try googling for those.

I did think about getting one, but since I got the black rapid strap, RS4, I carry the camera across the body and hide it under the jacket when the weather is that bad.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

      Hey Gerry,

Not sure what you are after exactly, but if check with your local camera shop or online there are rain covers made for SLR cameras that just slip over, made from that see through pvc stuff. Otherwise there are a lot of camera bags, especially Lowepro or maybe Tamrac that have "quick access" pouches on camera bags/backpacks.

We don't really need it here in the Pilbara maybe othe PP's in wetter areas can help.

You can still buy those type of covers, just not from the manufacturers. Google is your best bet. In reality those covers aren't really weatherproof. I think the decline in popularity has a lot to do with the one size fits all zooms that most people with DSLRs use these days whereas years ago the default was to use a 50mm prime. I don't use one because I also run a battery grip on my D800. I fit a Kirk bracket (or RRS) to give me good tripod support and also protection from bumps and knocks. With the Kirk bracket on I have no hesitation wedging the camera on a rock or building to take an impromptu shot.

        Try B&H or Adorama. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/DS...3/N/4075788796
