I recently let go of my beautiful Ocho. Ocho is a 2000 GXL V6, and he had done around 390,000 when he was bought by a nice chap in Hervey Bay. Original engine, no rebuilds. No major repairs, I between the previous owner and myself we replaced all the suspension bushes, bumpstops, shocks etc. and the only fault it had was the starter motor died the day after I sold it and the day before it was collected! replaced that and off it went.
2008 120 d4d. 311000km.
New toyota long motor at 299000. (Cracked piston) Apart from suspension no other major repairs. Still drives like new.
cheers Womble.
2003 GX Prado Manual Diesel (not common rail version) - 466,000 km. Now a tad second hand - jusy bought 2012 150 GX, but still have theh old girl for the time being.
99 GXL 5vzfe currently at 572551km. Still on original engine, shocks, bushes etc replaced at 340000 and again at 570000. Pedders were rubbish so went with King springs / Old Man Emu combo. Drives like it did when I bought it at around 250. Bulletproof.
2000 Prado VZJ95R GXL
V6 3400 (5VZ-FE) petrol engine
A343F automatic transmission (rebuilt once)
380,000 km
Bought it in March this year, since then we've put about 2500km on it mainly on camping trips and a little around town stuff.
Changed the lower control arms plus fixed slowly leaking valve covers as well as put a new-to-me towbar on it as the old one's tongue was rusted in.
I just love driving the AdventureWagon, can't imagine being without it. Not my daily drive though, that's a Mitsubishi Lancer CJ which just got too small for camping trips.
2007 GXL TD manual just clocked over 280,000.
New Injectors at 180,000 (still inspec but thought should change them) and then again at 230,000 (must have got a bad batch) now going strong. Still original clutch too :-) although not much left of it, no slippage as just towed our 2T caravan on a 1,100 k trip up and down the mountains and worked well. Other than that nothing else bar tyres and one set of brake pads.
Recently traded our old 1999 GXL 3.4 L petrol, auto, for a new GXL. The old bus had over 392,000km and still plenty of life. Well serviced and minimal problems. Needed a vehicle that was rated to tow more than 2.5 tonne or it might be have been still in our possession.
