A Swiss couple, aged in their 60s, were found alive today after bogging their rented Prado and walking for 3 days in 40 degree heat with no food and little water. They were found on the Gibb River Road after following and crossing the Pentecost River. The pair were due to book out of their Kununurra Hotel on Sunday and head to Tennant Creek. Hotel staff, expecting them to book out, discovered the couples bags all packed and ready to go. They raised the alarm and emergency services commenced searching. The couple had become bogged on the Karunje Track east of Kununurra. Locals said it was not the best time of year to go to that area which was home to crocodiles. The Swiss embassy contacted the couples next of kin back in Switzerland and were told that the man had good 4WD skills from driving in Switzerland and South Africa.
