Hoping some people can point me in the direction of some good information on MPPT Regs. My Father in law has a property that has no mains power, and has a largeish battery bank of approx 5/6 deep cycle batteries - 400ah capacity from memory. We are looking at getting a MPPT regulator to use with solar panels to keep the batteries topped up during the day. Of an evening when the generator is running, there is a 10a Projecta battery charger topping up the batteries.
The basic requirements for the reg is to support 20-30a current, approx 250-300w. From some of the info ive read, some regs can auto sense the battery voltage (ie 12 or 24v) and adjust the charging voltage accordingly.
Ive been trying to research these, however there would appear to be a lack of good quality, non bias reviews/information out there.
Appreciate any feedback!
