Hey Guys..Serious note.

Can you believe it snowed in Adelaide today? In The Adelaide hills.

Currently i am down at Point Turton (2.5/3hrs out of Adelaide) and it has been raining really heavy, has made for some great driving down some dirt roads and tracks, and great Dashcam footage of water coming over the bonnet.

The beaches are pretty much out as like i said the seaweed in places is like 4ft high, so we tried some of the smaller dunes, was pretty good. No need for any recovery gear as the sand was pretty firm and mostly easy going.

Got another 4 days down here roughing it....Actually doing work on our beach block..but always have time for exploring.

I haven't seen snow since moving to Qld 5 years ago. Haven't even been down to our ski lodge in Thredbo for that long either....wow the time does fly. Damn my 12 y/old can't even ski, I need to fix that next year.
So Steve what's the go with the seaweed down there?? someone was mentioning it on PP a while back too.

The seaweed is seasonal but this year is much deeper than normal and to drive on it/over it is risky unless you had too, so you avoid it at all costs, kind spoils the winter beach driving.

The seaweed disappears again around middle to end of spring..which is good.
I did post a pic of it in one thread a while back.

The beach in front of our beach block is normally weed free, today it is about 2 ft deep.

But we did go into the dunes today.

You know I was talking to a mate overseas this week, he was saying that seaweed is going to become a big thing as fertilizer, apparently it's very good plus it's easy and cheap to process. You guys could make a fortune down there lol.

Quite possibly could make some cash from it if you had means of collecting it and processing it, and i doubt the local Shires/Councils have the means or time to explore it.

ahh this last page has tears rolling down my face. I have to go gents so in my absence please try to keep the sanity to a minimum and Steve if it's snowing down your way it would be best to cover your possum overnight, well at least the shaved side, and especially if you've already painted him green to match your Freds.

Jase How long have been travelling around in the camper for?? We met a couple from Newcastle who were here for our friends 40th a few weeks back. they sold their house and bought a van and have been travelling around for about 9mths now I think.
They kept their business and put someone in to run it and are just loving being on the road exploring.
BTW both your trailers look awesome, your current one looks bloody huge when setup. We've just got a normal sized caravan, I think its18ft or something but it never gets used, I think we've spent about 2 weeks in it over 2 short camping trips in the past 5 years. I think we'd use a camper trailer heaps more as you can get them into much cooler spots like double island and fraser.

No it's ok MJ I still have no possum shaves or unshaven.

We are not traveling round Australia we just sold up in Brisbane and drove over to Perth through the middle. We took the camper trailer with us on the trip and decided to stay in it for a few months when we got here to make sure we got to know Perth and the suburbs before we bought somewhere. Well after 3 months we have found a bit of land which km going to put an offer on. The we are building a shed ourselves to live in while we build the house ourselves. I'm a builder and always wanted to do this. Everyone will tell you Perth is expensive but the land is about the best price for the size I want and the distance I'm willing to be out of the city.

Ahh good idea doing a bit of recon first and not just rushing in, and by the look of the size of the camper I don't think you are doing it too tough.

James sell the caravan and get a camper trailer you will use it so much more. When I lived in Brisbane we were off 1-2 weekend a month to Bribie Island it long weekend on Fraser.

Yep I've been thinking about it a bit lately, I've just got to convince SWMBO that it will be a good swap because I don't have room here for both. She has this love of the van even though we use it stuff all.

Fido, Steve was not taking the piss, he was seeing humor in everyday things that most normal people would not find funny, we all have our little quirks.

The incident in question was me having a bit if fun with Maxtrax but I did want to know the price of Treds and you answered and I went out yesterday a bought a pair. So this is actually what Steve found funny, the irony that I was Tredjacking the Maxtrax thread and you joined in.
