  • Finally a Ford!

I have waited 11 years to wear my Ford shirt with pride.

Good ole Frosty did us proud at Bathurst, what a 'great race'.

Ford announcing that they will still support the category was welcome and overdue news. The bits I saw of the race were pretty good. Can't beat Bathurst.

I can't get into the whole supercar thing, not a fan of silhouette racers, but Bathurst is a different animal. Might be better once the Nissans and AMG and Volvos start being competitive so it isn't just a walk over for one or other colour.

Agreed. I still give Bathurst a look but I have lost interest in the season. Its long over due for an overhaul and other makes being introduced.

I didn't see it but 'they' ran a handicap race with a V8 supercar and a VX GTS (then most powerful Australian car with a 300kW engine) and a new GenF GTS. It has been since uploaded to YouTube. Best I can tell the supercar did the standing lap in 2:16 something and the new GTS in 2:34 something. Worth a look if you didn't see it. The GTS makes more torques but will be about 50kW down.

Not bad considering both road cars would be half a tonne heavier than the racing car. Tyres would be the next biggest disadvantage. Not sure how that time rates compared to other things.

Hey Bushbasher you're right mate , they're not real cars . I wish the 12hr had the advertising clout to become what Bathurst was all about in the beginning , real cars racing........not bloody Nascars . Cheers Ross

Yeah they're all the same car, just a different badge on the front. Not very interesting anymore. I watched the first 10 laps or so then, dare I say it, figured I had better things to do yesterday than watch a pile of generic cars race around a track. Bit like F1
