Hmmmm..........limestone base...............red dust.................VERY FLAT...........i'm thinking Nullabor..........somewhere near a railway line by the looks of the building material...........think thats as close as i'm getting

Muzza, now your turn.
Spot on. Passed through Koonalda last Christmas after driving the old Eyre Highway.
Koonalda was a sheep station that sold fuel along the road. Shut down shortly after the new highway opened. Place is full of old car wrecks from people that obviously didn't make it. Old petrol bowsers still there.
Old homestead is still there as well as the shearers quarters which is whats on the original photo . Quarters has a open fire and is full of old stuff. Homestead and quarters are made from sleepers from the trans Australia railway. Someone has cleverly rewired the place so you can plug your generator in so lights work.
Koonalda Cave is a short drive up the track. Also a large blowhole close to the homestead.
Is actually only about 14 klms from main highway, but is not signposted.
A truelly fascinating place.
