Bump.
It'll be nowhere near it but i'll guess Kinchega Shearer's quarters at Kinchega NP.
I recall seeing something like that there.
It's definitely a big meat safe - the water drips down from the tank through the straw outriggers and cools the inside through evap flow ( just like an evaporative cooler )

Yeah, I also remember seeing something like this around the Flinders or Kinchega NP area... If I recall correctly there was also an old Shearers Shed turned into a Museum?? Or was that near Broken Hill?? Hmmmm...
Ok so this is a Meat Room but without chewing the Cud, re Broken Hill Mitch, you are sort of close. It's not in NSW but it is in the outback, it's not a sheares quarters but it is a station.
Not sure if that is too obvious or cryptic. Should be easy now.
It is in the road to Coongie lakes
Near the Old building done up by the Landcruiser club.
That would be the one. I've joined that club. Since this has hung around for a while, and since I've already pointed the answer out but no one got it then look in my trip report for the Simpson Trip and look for the name of the place. There is a photo of the name close up.
