Good job Chippy...the Hahn Track is correct.....the main track between Lake King and Norseman.
Peak Charles is an outstanding peak out there in the bush. A great climb with superb views and a good campsite.
I think it might have kept people guessing, but it so recognisable to West Aussies. A minature Ayres Rock...except it is a granite outcrop, a remnant of the split of Antartica from Oz just a few years back now. Just like all those granite mountains and cliffs along the South Coast except this one is a long way inland.
Peak Charles is one of those ancient places, so quiet and devoid of people that you can hear the past echoing in the rocks....the granite is so old that broken pieces sing when struck. Hmmm....sounds a bit poetic...but it is true.
Over to you Chippy!
