wonderful area....so many places to explore and yet the people I know in Sydney never leave the city.....it always amazes me when they have such a great natural paradise on their doorstep and so many historical spots. i love it.
Guess i will have to dig around again........

I must be lagging here... half those pics weren't here before my incorrect guess!
Me too HG, this game has moved on somewhat from when i last checked.
Chippy, i was sure that last one of yours was the drive up to Mt Wellington in Hobart. Another beautiful spot to explore, especially at the time when the Sydney to Hobart yachts are coming in. The place really comes alive.
Muzza, NFI where your shots are from but they are stunning pics, you are a man of many talents, poet, writer, photographer, traveler.......
Then I'm going to go with Cue, the ruins could be the old hospital, while the mining relics could be from the areas around Cue, Big Bell and Day Dawn.
They look similar to some of my dad's old pics .... but they are black and white and from the early 1940's.
Here's one of my dad and my grandad, in their backyard in Cue ... early 1940.
My grandad was an electircal engineer and spent many years setting up contracts to buy surplus electricity from the big mine generators and set up power grids to supply electricity to the towns. All of his work was eventually absorbed into Western Power's monopoly .... and grandad passed away in 2003 at the age of 92.
You got it Chippy......Day Dawn and the old hospital Cue.
I'd love to see your Dad's old pics if you can share them....or email me some ([email protected])..would appreciate that...love old pics of these places.
Thanks Lofty for the compliment....I take a lot of pics.....and believe I have a bit of an eye for it as I used to do a lot of painting and drawing before the internet swallowed up all my time. The pics are featured on my website under Australian Camper.
Cue is a top spot to visit...quite historic and all the old mine ruins haven't been swallowed up by open cut mines, though most have.
Some grand buildings in Cue still.
Old gaol
Over to you Chippy for sumthing different!
