Another news article. This one takes a slightly better view on it but is still based on a 2 line post on facebook
Baahahaha, they quoted me from the 120 prado facebook post.
I stand by my quote that it looks like the Colorado blocked them in!

But yeah, terrible journalism - thats two pieces made entirely of facebook posts and no quotes directly from the parties involved....

      I love internet comments sections.
      From that above article:

Sid, Australia, Australia, about 4 hours ago
An excellent move indeed, I would have gone even further and towed the japcrap out into the middle of the road and left it there, and I've the 4x4 to do it! Full marks love, ya done good!

Japcrap hey? I wonder exactly what "quality" 4x4 he drives?

That's pretty much most journalism these days.

The previous FB postings of the lady who posted the video tell me all I need to know about the mentality behind this act, still shaking my head!

Note down the number plate from the video, head down to the local police station and claim you were hit by another vehicle in a car park and they failed to stop (illegal), and tell them you need the contact details of the owner attached to that plate for insurance.

                  Voila, name and address...

Better still, make a claim for damage to your insurance company, maybe something small like, wheel alignment, handbrake, and hitch receiver need fixing replacing and let their lawyers go after them since the video is perfect evidence.

Problem #1: Crashes without injury are reported online now. If you don't have the other party number too bad. Police won't necessarily provide you with the details and will advise you to follow up via your insurance company. Police will not investigate and 9 times out of ten will leave it up to insurance company.

Problem #2: Most people have an excess. You have to pay the excess unless you can prove that you were not at fault and can identify the other party (see problem #1). How are you going to prove any damage when, more than likely, there is no visible damage to your car from being skull-dragged.

                        1. Incorrect, I was hit in the tail light by a women who took the right turn lane in the rain, she didn't stop. I was up for a $700 light. I took down the plate and car model and colour and went to the local police station and they handed over the name and address without question (its public knowledge anyway). And in Qld no such online reporting exists. And I got a crime number.

                        2. Notified my insurance, with the crime number and details of the other party. No excess, new tail light. That'll teach the bitch. She would have had to pay her excess to cover it.

But the real reason you want their address is extract subtle revenge on their car, maybe a fuel additive?

The opinions expressed in this post are not the opinions of this forum or its owners. On the other hand all Prado owners would like to say "May the force be with you"

I assume everyone who's offended by a precious Prado being dragged hasn't spent a lot of time in NT... or north of Noosa
