Unfortunately Jim I know sweet buggar all about computers except if there not working I'm screwed lol. The norton was in it when we bought it so just kept the subscription up. I think it was a free 3 month trial when we first got it. Still under warranty not sure if that is an issue if we change what program protects it if we put some thing else into it ?? Will see what Harvey has to say lol..... Cheers Steve

Havn't had any issues with it Jim up until now and that's only these pop up issues (use to get it with the other ones, vista etc) but find windows 8 very hard to navigate around.........Cheers Steve

Start menu is back in the next update of Windows 8! You'll be fine. I'm running windows 8 and Firefox with no pop up issues. Re navigating - Just press your Windows button (between Ctrl and Alt) then type the name of the programe you want. The rest of the time stick in the Desktop view.

hate being broke

the more i read into peoples mods the more i hate the short falll of my own coin,,,,

if i keep my rig for another 15 yrs , my very smart 7 yr old willl make up for his boilermaking dad's dream of decking out this 120

I work at a Council, despite what people think - the pay ain't that great. Over 40 in IT, is pretty much over the hill....

Butane you are just living in the wrong state mate, if you are a boilermaker you could be on some ok coin up here, either in civil construction or up on the mine sites, my mate pays his welder 50+p/hr from what i'm told that's ok $ and he spends half his time driving around picking shit up and dropping it off, but a certified welder needs to be on site at all times (civil construction) they build bridges.

lol, yeah that's the issue.

I'm just doing one mod at a time. Think my next big spend is on a UHF - but I need a GME 3800 series to work with the car club I belong to (gravel road). Cheapest thus far has been on gumtree for $200, but looks like it was mounted on the outside of the vehicle, but it is a 25 watt unit. But I think I'll hold off and get one I saw on eBay that has the separate head unit for $449 new.

As far as elcheapo mods go, next up this weekend is the Provent installation - but under things that "Tick me Off" when the second battery was installed (an owner ago), they ruined the OME fender mounts. So now have to make a bracket.

Buts gots me an idea (on the third Baileys and coffee today! ), I've got a metal network cable tidy with a flat bit at the back that I'll grind off, bend to suit.
