Know what ticks me off? When expensive decide to let go on expensive components.

Driving home from hospital past night I sunk the boot into the Merc to go around some trucks... Just before redline the supercharger seized.

lol, I honestly didn't think I got into it that hard. It has a funny transmission so it often sees close to redline. I just pushed it back down into third (6spd auto) then pulled out and around. "Nek Minnit" I feel like I'm going backwards, all the bells and whistles that I paid for are now flashing and screaming at me, the oncoming traffic is getting closer and closer while I look for a spot to get my arse back in. (didn't find one so I went into the oncoming emergency lane) and somewhere in all that I swear I heard that stupid bitch of a GPS make something along the lines of... "Buup! Good luck!"

aww hell no! I've been relegated back to my work ute (Ford Ka!) and been sworn to promise to fix the Merc asap. Which I think I did alright, have a "Kompressor" on it's way from a similar kms car for $1500 and I'm sure I can change it over in less than two hours.

We have built a new front fence with solar powered 24v sliding gate etc, all finished last Friday - worked great over the weekend. Monday morning came, gate would not open or close. Dead flat batteries... I have an GSM phone intercom that I would like to connect to it but did not as I did not know where to connect to on the board (that is part 2). The gate motor company came out, you could see that they thought I had connected the intercom and did some damage as they kept asking me about it. After a bit of testing, found it was a faulty solar controller. They replaced it and the batteries and all worked fine. While he was there he connected my intercom for me, very nice of him to do so.

All worked fine, he left and I went to go back to work - gate would not open!!! Thought this is great...... By the time I found it out he was already at another job and could not come back until later. So I played around with it. I disconnected the intercom wires - gate worked again. Reconnected - gate stopped working. I left the intercom power wires connected and disconnected the relay wires so that we could use the remotes to open and close.

Got around to playing with it in more detail today, looks like 1 of the 2 trigger relays in the intercom is buggered. Not a cheap intercom but I did import it from the UK (could not find a decent looking one with the same features here). Now the battle has begun there, they believe that we have stuffed it when connecting it to the gate... Tried telling them it worked for 20 minutes then stopped.

Lesson of the day - whilst I might like bells and whistles sometimes the old gate that swings or slides by strong-arm works far more reliably...

To make matters worse, I think the solar controller is playing up again. It appears to be charging but the green ' charge' light does not illuminate.

I have a headache!

I pay so much tax I must be supporting 50 lazy farkers. My missus works in the post office - the "poor" people come in, they whinge that they can't afford to pay their phone, power or water bill. But they WILL ALWAYS pay their Foxtel bill. Probably because Foxtel is the only company that will cut you off for non-payment.

Politicians that tell the nation that we all have to take pay cuts, live within our means, lower the minimum wage and pensions, extend the retirement age, refuse CPI pay rises to emergency service and medical people, strip defence people of hard earned benefits ...... then in the same breath tell us they are "entitled" to their obscene salaries and perks which will stay right where they are for now and go up next year while everyone else has to do more with less.

Its made worse by the fact that they are not being humiliated into taking a paycut with the rest of the nation. I'm quite sure Abbot, Hockey and that other bloke with the funny accent could "sacrifice" $100k per year each and not even notice it.

The cops initially get told no to a pay rise, like everyone else.

Then they stop handing out the pay up notices to the motoring public.

The lack of revenue flowing to government coffers bites real hard real quick.

The pay rise is duly granted.

Funny how that works.

I pay your wages Dave, and three or four others that you work with. I NEVER get any consideration whether its Liberal or Labour taking. I work 70 hours per week, stress 28 hours a day and consider myself lucky to finally earn good money after years of study, applying myself, making the most of my humble existence while mates went stright to work, had nice cars etc and I started working for 60% of their wages. I also now pay some cockamainy debt tax, higher medical bills for me and kids. The only purported upside is the ex has sex with me regularly...., well she f%^ks me daily of a substantial sum of my pretax income (which is not deducted before the debt tax), she gets any Part A or B and every other handout despite owning a large number of properties in WA with her long standing boyfriend. After earning good money I'm left with 2 tenths of sweet FA!. The dole and living in Broome never looked so good.

mlc - Need to enquire about a cushy job with gun in Broome.

All joking aside. My great salary equates to less than staff working under me. My situation is far better than some, but nowhere near what most people think. Getting screwed is not the privilege of the lower socio economic group. Labor are usually stripping it to give to the poorer (not poorest), or Liberal are usually stripping it to make good labors mess.
