Doing the Australian (bogan) thing went out to buy a new Australian flag for Australia day to display proudly on the Prado. Five different shops and believe it or not all the flags are made in China grrrr.

Well after this rant, I decided to write to the CEO. Well I must say, I was surprised with the effect of my letter. The vehicle was reassessed and as a token of their remorse, they fixed the hail damage and even went over and beyond by having the spoiler repainted and the whole car buffed. I am very happy with the result and will now remain a loyal customer.

insurance companies, when you get the renewal for your comprehensive can insurance and the car is insured for the same price as last year and the premium is $200 dearer this time round. you ring them up to find out why and they say its because there is a lot of crime in your area, what a load of bullshit i say, so i say well cancel all my other insurance policies and i will go else where, mind you i have 2 x greenslips, 2x car insurance (comprehensive), house and contents and even road service, and the operator says hang we can do it for the same price as last year. amazing what a little bit of discussion can do. cheers samo :x

Things tick me off during the Qld floods.
1 Virtually no mention on TV of our regional areas once Brisbane was threatened / flooded. Radio has been great.
2 Karl Stefanovic on Channel 9 - he is why I watch Channel 7 - he has the credibility of the Aussie Cricket Team and what is worse - he is a Queenslander. He only opens his mouth to change feet.
                3. If I see the PM smiling or grinning like a chesire cat whilst on camera talking with people impacted by the flood I will throw up. This is serious stuff and she treats it as another opportunity to be a media tart.
                4. Talking of media tarts - have you noticed the nodding head stooges behind the PM/Premier/Police commissioner.
                5. Looters - how low can you go ! I liked the Ipswich Mayors comment - "I would like to use them as flood markers".
                6. Authorities trying to get volunteers to fill out forms/register before helping. WTF.

BUT WHAT DOES NOT TICK ME OFF IS THE RESILIENCE OF THOSE IN THE FLOODS. AMAZING STUFF WITH COUNTLESS ACTS OF HEROISM, THE SELFLESSNESS OF VOLUNTEERS AND EMERGENCY SERVICE PERSONNEL, THE COMPASSION DISPLAYED CONSTANTLY BY ORDINARY AUSSIES AND OF COURSE AUSSIE MATESHIP GETTING THINGS DONE.

It covers both the authority and the volunteer. You are actually covered by the insurance of the authority if you are a volunteer.

Your right nt. Part of my job is OHS and its a big one. Though it also protects the person volunteering particularly if they were to dislocate a knee or something worse.

Apparently 7000 turned out today to help tidy up brissie. Good effort!

My Brand New Masport 600ST SP Lawn Mower catcher that falls off every 2 metres! Yep, I chucked a tanty big time in the back yard today after I fell over it. I am going to take it back to a certain Stihl shop and shove it fair up... Nah I am really going to ask them nicely whats wrong, not there fault but I am sure they will be able to help.
