Even better are the ones that get all huffy when no one answers the instant they post so they add "Urgent" or "Help". Here's me thinking this was a social community when really it's a free informtion service.

                    Hi Guys,

Another newbie to the Prado Point forums. I've also posted on LCOOL but this seems more appropriate since I own, well, a Prado. 120 Series 2006 3lt. Also only new to 4wding but loving it. Shame about the price of fuel. $1.80 a litre is a bit steep but the fun makes it worth it. Headed off on a trip called the Border Trip with a bunch (about 17 vehicles) from the LCOOL site a few weeks ago. Heading there again in about a month with a group from work.

Looking at heading across the Simpson next year so might join up with the PradoPoint Get Together in the NT and Simpson trip.

The Prado is currently stock but will start a slow build (after owning it for about two years). Planning on plugging in a GME TX3420 this weekend or next weekend. Thought I'd give myself a go at doing it myself. After all, how much damage can I make

A**holes in mining utes that speed through the spoon drains sending a wall of dirty gritty water straight at your windshield and all over your bonnet leaving you temporarily blinded. They can see there's 10 or 15cm of water flowing through the drain and across the road. If you drive a normal sedan you have to slow down whilst negotiating the drains otherwise you'll bottom out your suspension. But the num-nuts in the LC utes just blast through, bouncing through the dips, and sending that huge wall of water at the unsuspecting motorists.

I am out there enjoying this beautiful country (in my Prado) while you drive your Prius to the cafe for another latte.... uninformed people forming opinions and passing judgement with no knowledge or experience on a particular subject frustrates me no end!

Well, I must protest about this slur against coffee drinkers! Seems that the ultimate insult against "city dwellers" is to label them as latte drinkers - see it so often in forums and in online news comments.

Received a gift card from my daughter on Angus & Robinson books for my birthday. It was for $30 - not easy for her to find

Went into the shop the other day, picked out a book and went to the counter only to be told that they were in receivership and were not honouring the gift cards. I could either claim as an unsecurered creditor, or chose $60 worth of books and they would charge me $30.

I told them this was not acceptable, I was leaving the card and taking the book and they could call security or police if they liked.

Walked out the shop with the book

The manager followed me all the way to the office and I eventually gave him back the book to avoid a scene in front of clients.

What a rip off. Thieves in my opinion.

To make matters worse I notice my local news agent is still selling the cards.
