In his (partial) defence - he hardly gets to drive the Prado because it's SWMBO's shopping trolley. He's relegated to the work Ranger.

Ludicrous, dangerous and utterly stupid road markings added to a street that was previously a wide, free-flowing and safe street with wide lanes that only had centre lines around the blind bends.
Look at the stupidity of these road markings, their silly curves and, worse, how they force vehicles into dangerous angles around blind bends with little separation between on-coming vehicles and the curb.
I kid you not, these were recently added by the local council after the road was resurfaced, despite there not been a single road safety incident in at least 5 years that I know of.
Seriously, these road markings are just crazy:
Parking and cyclist lane added to the inside curve on a blind sharp bend.
Look at the misaligned and 'S' bends in the new centre double-white lines, forcing vehicles to sway left and right around a bend.
And God only knows the purpose of these road markings:

Yikes, the line markers were either drunk, or were shaking their heads with dismay when the traffic engineering graduate came up with that line making layout... Jeepers. There was a test done in the uk where they took all line marking off a road, and traffic actually slowed down because drivers felt unsafe.
My guess this is cheap way of hitting a target. "Yes sir, we created a new cycle lane and hit this months kpi "[SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'

Saw that on our way home last month. They have had them for a while on the Bruce highway. Apparently has reduced the number of head on and near misses by a huge amount by giving people that extra distance before they collide

And, on the flip-side talking about the fires: people who cry "I don't have any insurance" but their bodies are adorned with tattoos and piercings, they smoke cigarettes and the remnants of the foxtel dish are still on the twisted wreckage that once was the roof of their house. Priorities people, priorities.Dave

Coaches and Trucks - which frequent this road (particularly school buses) have a tough time getting through...
I like to think of them as rally special stages...you can get a prado through doing 60!Spilsy
