  • 2008 Grande - Good Price???

    Hi,

This is my first post here (been trolling the forum for a while). I am just about to buy a new or used (12mth old) 4.0ltr Grande and need some advice on price.

I want it in black and I can only find one used one for sale (May 2007 model). I have spoken with the salesman (who is in Melb - I am in Qld) and I could probably pick it up for around $60,000 plus on-roads. It has 13,000kms on the clock.

I dropped into my local Toyota dealer today so see if they could find me something similar in a used vehicle. Without blinking an eyelid they offerd me a brand new black 2008 Grande for $71,400 drive away. Delivery could be this month but no later than end Sept.

The extra $11,000 is not a big issue for me but I need some advice on what is the best deal. I am aware of the extra's in the 2008 as opposed to the 2007 model (thanks to this forum).

I'm planning on buying tomorrow so any immediate advice would be handy. The 2008 model at $71,400 drive away seems like a really good deal but I haven't done my research on new prices.

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

    Regards

    Paul

On roads on 60k are going to be around 3-5 K depending on tax etc.

I paid just over 66k for a new Grande 4.0 Black. With a bunch of extras thrown in.

If your happy with the price, then go for it.
Thats the bottom line, not what others think or can wangle.

          Hey Piggy,

Thanks for you reply. Did your price of 66k include on-road costs?

My quote is for $65,507 plus on-roads?

I'd be very interested to here your reply. Thanks

              Thanks Piggy,

Do you mind letting me know who your dealer was? I would fly to SA and drive it home if I could get one for that price.

              Regards

Thanks to those who replied to my original post. I have and update . . . . . .

I signed a contract this evening on a brand new black 2008 Prado Grande 4.0 . . . . yippee! Delievery next Wednesday hopefully.

I had 2 local dealers fighting for my business but ended up paying $900 more to do business with the guy I liked and trusted.

Now I can't wait for it to arrive!

I'd swap the hard spare cover for roof racks. If you change to 265/70 tyres the hard covers won't fit.

                          Sounds good.

I bent my dealer rather viciously for my price. I got the rubber rear mat and hard trye cover too (And have left it off since!)

Was that price of 66890 drive away net of any GST credit you may be entitled to?

                            Thanks

Included GST. Drive away. We then claimed GST off of that.
