  • Wheelie bin

I bought one of these http://www.bushranger.com.au/wheelie_bin.php at the recent Perth 4WD Show, but had to wait until this weekend to pick it up. I paid $90 at the show, Bushrangers full price is $97 and Michelle's Sacs want $156 for their version.

I've been thinking about getting one for some time now as there is nothing worse than carrying around a load of rubbish inside the car. It also doubles as a place to put wet towels and muddy boots (not that I have many of them) etc.

The bag I've got is like shade cloth material. The good thing about it is that any juicy stuff dribbles out. The bad thing about it is the same. I can't remember how much but it would have probably only been $20-30ish. Same as the others, just straps around the spare but dosn't really work with the hard wheel cover. God thing that the cover is going soon

They are also great for storing dirty snatch straps, winch extensions etc. if you have been put playing in the mud.

Hey Schaffer, have you ever thought about cutting the top off one of those plastic water containers like the 15 litre ones they sell at the supermarket and sliding that down into the base of the bag ? That way you would catch all the liquids and could pull it out to empty them without staining and smelling up the bag. If you wanted to be really creative you could secure it by poking a hole in the bag where the water container spout would sit then unscrew the spout, put the outlet of the container through the hole then scew the spout back ontrapping the bag between the conatainer and the spout. That way you would not have to remove the container to empty it just turn the spout on.

I try and burn as much as I can including empty cans, then carry them out with me, that way at least they arent adding to the dribble already going on in the vehicle

I have a similar bag by Blackwidow and works a treat.Used it on our cape trip this year and held every ones garbage for days (5 cars on trip) drain hole in bottom but rules where that you had to bag your rubbish before it went in to the wheelie bag. Worked well on a recent wet Watagans trip for all my recovery gear.

I have one of these too. Love the idea but I feel the need to keep checking the securing straps.

Just had a look at mine. It's an Outback Ideas Track Sack.

I've just added one of these to my camper trailer - placed in front of the spare wheel just behind the stoneguard. Will post a pic later.
