I like the look of these ARB Storm Bags:

Anyone had any experience with them? Might have to pop into the local store this weekend to have a sticky beak.

    Re: ARB Storm Bags

Sorry mate, no experience with the bags - hadn't even seen them before. They look pretty good and I am in the market for a new 'camping bag', so many thanks for the heads up. The build quality should be pretty easy to evaluate in-store, so I'll be taking a look at them later today.

Had a look at them at ARB Brighton today and they do seem to be very well made. Being ARB I figured they'd be more expensive... Worth the asking price, I reckon... They only had the bigger ones in stock, but as soon as I see the smaller version I'll shell out for one.

Bought a couple of the large ones today, The guy at ARB said he couldn't believe how quickly he had sold out.
Maybe ntpryce should be asking for commission
Perfect for my purposes and seem good value but looking at the vinyl ends I would keep them away from any sharp objects either inside or out.

          I wish.

Where possible, it would be beneficial if PPointers can try and gauge interest in an item via the forum before purchasing. If considerable interest is shown, I am sure that someone could negotiate a PPoint discount if a group purchase were to be arranged.

            Excellent point.
That strategy worked well with the Stebel Horn.

Yes however it is ARB, anybody should be able to get 10% discount by asking. Trying to get anymore is a creative exercise in negotiation.

Possibly, but it also comes down to individual relationships and the attitude of the salespersons IMO.
At the risk of sending this thread OT, (moderators please move if you feel warranted) I went to ARB at the beginning of December, cash in hand to buy a Milford Cargo Barrier.
No way was the sales guy going to discount, he wouldn't budge with even $1 discount and even said Milford were out of stock and it couldn't be supplied until mid January,
I walked out and went to TJM a few kms away with the same request. Not only did they quote a price around $100 cheaper they ordered it while I was in the shop and it was fitted a few days later. Subsequently I placed an order with them for over $3k of other stuff including Outback Drawers.
Had the guy I met at ARB yesterday (who sold me the Storm Bags) been the one that served me in December, things would probably have been different. He couldn't do enough to help me and I was really impressed.
                Same company, totally different attitude
