Engel Fridge Slide

Hi All

Just about finished my little cargo setup in the prado and looking to purchase an Engel compatible fridge slide. Most places I have researched have them for around $275. Does anyone know a place in Brissie having a sale or sells cheaper? Was going to make my own but the missus says I have too much "free time " lately!

Hi, i don't know what size fridge you have but if you have one around 50-60L size or smaller check out the sidewinder fridge slides they retail for around $195. I don't have a link for you but if you do a google search you should find their website, they are in Brissie. There's lot of other goodies on their site that are worth a look at to.

i'm looking to get a fridge slide to put on top of the draw i built too but like you was a little hesitant to spend ~$300 on the legit one! but after a trip to Bunnings and Mitre 10 to price some slide units to build my own, the ones i found were closer to $250 for decent heavier duty versions that extend the whole length of the fridge... so I'm leaning back to the genuine!

The Sidewinder slide looks exactly like my genuine Engel slide - except its grey in colour. I wonder if it comes with the genuine rattle mine has?

I can agree with the genuine engel slides banging and rattling a lot - The sidewinder ones may be made differently
(better). I used to have an engel slide in the back of my prado and it was noisy and annoying. I also found that on
really bad corrugations, the little spring-loaded catch would come undone, and allow the slide to 'open' and the fridge
to move. Not fun at all.

Needless to say, that slide got sold off. I now use a WAECO fridge slide. The 40L engel fits in nicely width wise, and is
about 4" or so shorter than the slide length (which turns out to be a handy spot for water bottles, and other 'storage').

Anyhow, just another option to think on ..................

Here is a location on ebay for some fridge slides that you could use to make your own, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4WD-Drawer-Runne ... 50mm-100kg . I have not purchased from them , am in the planning stage of making a set of drawers and fridge slide. Cheers Digger
