  • 4wdTV Needs Your Support

To all that dont know 4wdtv or Imparja this would be a get chance to get your support behind this.

For starters 4wdtv is an independant 4wd show mainly on CH 31 on the eastcoast and a few places around Aus.

It runs for approx 30 mins here in Alice at 12:30 on Sundays and is a great show all about 4wding.

Imparja is a local and interstate TV station currently running alot of Channel 9 programs, although they havnt always.

Just recently 4WDTV has made a come back onto Imparja after a long absence.

So what I need from you guys is to let Imparja know how much we like 4WDTV so it stays on air for a longer period or even better permanently.

I wrote Simon a email regarding covering PPGTG or even the Finke Desert Race.

    Hi Simon,

Firstly thanks heaps for getting 4wdtv back on Imparja, I missed the show terribly when it went off air.

There is just one thing to correct on the stations and times, you still list 4:30pm Saturdays. Could you please correct it.

When are you guys coming to Alice? I can get a bunch of guys together if you like.

A large gathering of Toyota Prado owners will be here early July and Finke desert race is also worth covering.

We have a large amount of great looking vehicles here and I believe we would be a great subject for your show.

So how about it, hope to hear from you soon,

    Sean Wilkens.

    And here is his responce-

    ************************************************** ************************************************** ************************************************** **************************************

Hey Sean, great to hear from you. We have always wanted to be on Imparja but they have kept us off. SO it would be great if you and all of your mates could email Imparja and let them know how much you like the show. They have only given us 13 weeks and it will go real quick. At least you have up to date episodes!

Getting to anywhere is a real problem for us. We don’t get paid for 4wd TV. Before we even start I have to find $140,000 to pay for airtime and then another $400,000 for production costs. Every event we cover is done thanks to the support of the organisers who cover our out of pocket travel expenses. The thousands of dollars worth of airtime we give them plus all of the production costs come out of our pocket but they chip in for travel, food and accommodation. We would love to come to Alice but unfortunately we have no funds to do it.

At the end of the day I do around 80 hours a week as a volunteer for 4wd TV and then we run another business for income. The closest we will be to Alice is mid July when we teach in Darwin for our PreMed course at Darwin High School.

We are just back from NZ where a club, 2 sponsors and a 4wd aprk all chipped in to get us over for an event and now we are in Bris where we have just covered the 4x4 Show here. The organisers pay all of our costs, they pay me to host the main stage and they pay us to make a short promo clip of the event...all of which helps us cover the massive costs of making the show.

I will also get the web changed. Thanks for picking that up.

    Cheers,
    Simon.

Well this organiser is not funding anyone to come along to the GTG, I cannot get a sponsor interested in covering the event now with the way the economy has collapsed.

Don't know what happened to my first attempt but here goes again.

I don't know how this TV stuff works but maybe one of the GTG attendees could video the event and provide the raw footage and notes to 4WDTV. Obviously contact 4WDTV beforehand to check if they are interested and if they are obtain tips on the type of footage and notes required and Simon can add voiceover. I think quite a few of their segments are from "contributors" anyway so this might work.

      Just a thought.

Thats not a bad idea MDS69, maybe that way we might endup on 4WDTV and help support them as well.

Ill contact Simon and see. In the mean time can you all contact Impajar and tell them we want 4WDTV.

They need all the support we can get,

        Zook.
