  • Happy as today

Well done, sounds like you got your priorities straight for today at least
It does feel good to get a bit of tidying/work done. The other day I finally got to really clean the salt out after easter - didn't get a chance at all before that :? .
Now, if someone wants to finish it off for me with a good cut & polish...

Well I got to go salt water fishing just outside of our harbour today and catch a few snappers and a salmon - so a good day for me too!

Man..... and there I was sitting in an office! I gotta snap out of this deadbeat life and live a bit more! Trouble is, I'd end up a poor hermit with a Prado. It'd be the last thing I sold I can tell you..... 8)

Did you put the battries back in Matt? Are the 90/100 H4 globes better than the Fat Boys?

Not sure where Matt got his but Narva do a 100/90 H4 & they also do a 130/90 H4 (not sure of the heat, had 130w globes in a set of driving lights and you could fell a noticeable difference over the 100w globes)

Repco and others sell Narva products.

                        Re: Happy as today

I am gathering by the interest that others have in an alternative to the fatboys, that they must be having similar problems to me.

I have been through 3 sets of Fatboys in 18months. ARB just keep telling me that they have never heard of them blowing after 6 months or so and they have all had them in their vehicles for years without problem.

I have given up on them (and their cost) and now just have the factory bulbs back in which are woefull. Does anyone think there is a realistic possibility that these 90/100 bulbs might damage the polycarbonate headlight? Considiring it is just the low beam that I am wanting to improve (I have the 4 driving lights to help high beam!!) I was assuming that if the high beam is the same or similar than there will be no problems as the lights are designed to cope with the standard high beam wattage. Does anyone know what the standard bulb high beam wattage is (I know I could pull out a bulb and have a look, but I'm lazy OK)?

Others thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.

                          Re: Happy as today

60w high & 55w on low I have the Fatboys the same as Mav's from the USA and have never had any problems.

Have had 1 headlight replaced under warranty after it vibrated apart at Karijini.
