Why is it that when I send a private message it just sits in the outbox and seems to take ages to send?

It sits in your outbox until the recipient opens it and only then it becomes a sent item.
Also it might be best if you pop into here

and introduce yourself and also add your location to your profile :wink: -
Can't send a PM

the pm will only be sent once the recipient opens it up in their inbox.
