      Wow that's lethal

I can't believe it got published on a Jeep owners site (well I can).

Common sense is not that common.

Seems like a bloody stupid idea, but it doesn't mean only Jeep drivers are stupid, I've seen plenty Toyota drivers doing stupid things before... :?

Re: new recovery idea (from a jeeper)

I just can't believe that some knob would promote the idea. It's very easy to read the article and laugh and think what a fool but this is a website for a magazine and they are promoting this idea, admittedly as a last resort to help someone that wasn't prepared. There was an incident recently up near Kununurra I believe where the wrong gear was used (not this) but the end result was the bullbar was ripped off one vehicle and killed the guys daughter.

Apparently this is the same guy:

  Having a cheap shot at Jeep drivers.. I'm sure you'd never do that, not again...

EDIT: Getting back on topic, I also can't believe they publish BS like that. Some poor unsuspecting and inexperienced guy might read that and decide it sounds like a good idea!!

couldn't agree more Schaffer & Jeepster. This idea is promoted on a fourwheeling website, and alot of unsuspecting people would take this as bible. Surely they would be opening themselves to liability by promoting this, no?

that is nuts. I agree it shouldn't be on a magazine or webpage unless it's a "what not to do".

Mind you, I've seen people snatching on the beach using the towball on an alloy tongue! (and no, they were not jeeps :P )
