Mav is traveling

HI All,

I have been on the go since last Sunday when I drove down to Adelaide after doing a mid shift, arrived in Adelaide at midnight on Sunday. On Monday I delivered the Prado to the dealership for warranty work and 90000 km service and will pick it up hopefully on Friday. If anyone sees my rig out bush bashing please give me a pm. Anyway today was an early start and I flew over to Sydney and drove up to Newcastle, have to sort out all the electrical items for my folks now they have moved into the new house. I will be here till Thursday morning when I drive back to Sydney early and then fly back to Adelaide. If the Prado is finished by Friday afternoon I will head up to Port Augusta and stay there overnight at the Stand Pipe Motor Inn and then drive up to Alice on Saturday. Best part is that there are now heaps of BP servos selling the Ultimate Diesel in Adelaide so I will be getting a full tank of it before I head off.

If the Prado is finished by Friday afternoon I will head up to Port Augusta and stay there overnight at the Stand Pipe Motor Inn and then drive up to Alice on Saturday

Our group is leaving the Caltex road house, Bolivar at 6am sharp. We should be in Pt Augusta around 9.30am for a splash and dash then heading north and turning off at Woomera. Will keep an eye out for you if you're not leaving Pt Augusta too early!

What... travelling again? I reckon with all the travel you do Mav, it would be easier if this thread was titled "Mav is at home" and you just let us know when you're not on the road. :roll: :lol: :lol:

I will have my ears on Mick so I will listen out for you. Is this a PP trip your doing or your 4WD club outing? Maybe it is the Simpson crossing trip you were planning? I reckon by 9:30 am I will be up near Glendambo but you never know I might have a sleep in for a change. :lol:

Yes you could be right David. I still reckon I should have been a truckie doing long distance hauls. :lol:

This trip is the Simpson crossing I have posted in the trips section. No one on PP put their hand up for it so it's just me and a group of friends.
We'll be on channel 10 UHF unless it's crowded, convoy includes a dark blue on silver Surf, White GQ patrol, gold R50 Pathfinder and my own silver Prado. I'll keep an eye out for you just incase you do have that sleep in :wink:

If I do not go up to PA on Friday then I will be leaving around the same time as you from Adelaide, I am staying at a house on Cross Road at Clarence Gardens.

I am just heading out the door to drive up to Port Augusta to stay the night there then heading back up the Stuart HWY tomorrow to Alice. I will listen out for you Mick as I leave PA in the morning.

I took some photos of Lake Hart last Saturday on my way back to Alice from Port Augusta in SA. Normally Lake Hart is a dry salt lake as you can see in the first photo, however at the moment it is full of water as shown in the second pano:
