  • camper trailer help

So we are deciding on going away for an extended trip next year as there is only 2 of us we have narowed the trailer down to a hard floor and like the pioneer range. However we have also looked at the Jayco outback penguin and are now undecided. Has anyone experienced both ways as we understan d that the Jayco has more creature comforts but the Pioneer is more off road we are not extreme but like the oodnadatta track and the like. So am wondering is comfort or off road ability the most improtant.

As a clue the roads we experienced on the GTG would be the most radical we would take on

    All help appreciated
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

          Re: camper trailer help

          Trent,

Being an extended trip I think I would prefer the likes of the Jayco, Coromal or Goldstream. Camper trailers like the Pioneer are good for a couple of weeks but I am sure that we would not want to be spending a few months living out of one, especially in extended wet weather conditions. You should be able to pick up a good second hand Goldstream or Coromal which have better suspension and underbody protection than the Jayco equivalent. However saying that I would take a Jayco Flamingo ST with shower and toilet built in, no problems at all. Our Coromal handled the Mereenie with no problems other than a broken water tank pipe but that was just bad luck and easily fixed for the princely sum of $2.95.

          Cheers
