My trusty old 98 Prado was sold today. After 11 years of faithfull service, it has gone to a new home. I hope the new owner gets as much pleasure out of the car as I did.
We'd been all over WA, including several trips up along the Gibb River, including Mitchell Plateau, up the top of Cape Leveque, several journies through the Pilbara including the Karijini, just about everywhere along the WA coast including 6 years playing along the many beaches between Israelite Bay and Augusta, all through the centre - along the Great Central Road at least 3 times, and on many prospecting trips through the goldfields. It's been through a large chunk of the NT and Qld including Cape York. And all along the east and south coast from the Cape to Eucla.
Much of this was towing our previous Jayco Outback Swan camper. Apart from 2 sets of springs, 3 sets of shocks, a starter motor, a couple of batteries and several sets of tyres the car never gave us any problems. I have had my January 09 GXL t/dsl now for 12 months and hope to continue with this car for the next 10 years travelling all over Australia.
Fairwell, dear Prado.
