  • Refrigerate Ater Opening

We had visitors over the weekend and this morning i couldn't find my Strawberry conserve for my toast in the pantry :?: Found some Honey instead. Later tonight i find the Strawberry conserve in the fridge..... Which got me thinking, who else stores items in cupboard but on label says to store in fridge after opening :?: What about camping? Different rules to save space? IMO it takes up presses Beer space

How many times do you see tomato or bbq sauce lying on peoples' tables or in restaurants and seems it stays there for ages. No refridgeration used.

We have to keep everything cooled or it just turns to liquid, especially the peanut paste. I usually keep all the sauces or jam in the esky. Back in my old army days we used to have margerine and it was never put in the fridge - because we never had one. Just chucked it into a ration tin or cardboard box until the next meal. Never seemed to go off, just like the sauce.

My missus keeps the tomato sauce in our fridge but she keeps the big refill bottle in the pantry. Doesn't seem to make any difference except in consistency.

I never put sauces etc in the fridge. Most sauces/dressings etc have so much sugar, as long as they're used within a few weeks, they wont go off.
Meat and a few vegies is about the only thing that goes in the fridge when camping (other than drink).

We buy fruit which is less likely to go bad, UHT milk in 1 litre containers (usually gets used all at once).
But then if we had a bigger better fridge we'd keep a lot more yummy :P stuff.
