Odd request for a Darwin member

Short story: Is there a member in Darwin who could look after a wheel and tyre for me from 17 July for a week?

Long story: We're travelling from Brisbane to Darwin (Litchfield/Kakadu) and then through the Gulf back to Brisbane. I like to carry two spares when we are in remote areas. My Son and I are driving to Darwin via some remote areas North and West of Windorah (two people, plenty of room for gear and two spares). My wife and Daughter fly into Darwin and we do Litchfield and Kakadu (four people, no room for the extra spare - not going anywhere remote so don't really need it). My Son and Daughter then fly out of Darwin and my wife and I continue through the gulf and down to Brissy (two people again, plenty of room). It would be great if someone in Darwin could look after our second spare for the week that all four of us are travelling together. Storage fees paid through the beer economy.

Thats the good thing about this type of forum & group, people helping each other.

A big thankyou again to VKPrado (Tasmania) who thru this forum recently offered us storage and workshop space (that we didnt end up needing) whilst we were in Tassie for Targa Tasmania.
Think we shocked him when we turned up with 2000 litres of Ethanol! ops:

I would definitely have done this and looked forward to the chance to catch up, however, I've just learnt that I will be transferring from Darwin at the end of May 2010. So we won't be here and won't have our house anymore!

I'll ask one of my close (and trusted) mates at work if he wouldn't mind helping out and let you know how I go over the weekend, if you can't find anyone else to help in the meantime.

either that or im sure if you and your friends are staying at a hotel of van park at each end of the trip they will let you chuck it somewhere.

Another option is if there is a hire Kennards up there you could rent an oversize locker for a week and chuck it and some of your gear in there, i think they do some sort of meter cubed jobbie.

Or if you have racks rhino do a 2 plank thing with a wheel holder to leave it on the roof

Problem solved thanks to some very generous offers from the North . Peace of mind restored thanks to the forum and the generosity of the people who are a part of this network. I'll bump my trip through the Gulf in case there is any interest.
