I'm sure some of you guys and girls have had some great ideas for doing up or helping do things on your Prados'--Only to end in FAILURE
This is just one of those stories
Have just purchased a roof to tent.
Now being one that is vertically challenged and on the wrong side of 60 I thought how was I going the get that Mother$^((er up on the roof without doing myself an injury.
 Built a lift
Off to the steel yard I go-and Bunnings of course. My mate has a second hand geared boat winch
So off to THE SHED I go. Welder -check.Cut off saw-check.Angle grinder-check.Drill-check.Nuts and bolts-check
Industriously I work away in THE SHED for a couple of weekends-and beers  -to come out with this 8)
The wife and I load the tent onto it and I wind away. It get half way up and gets stuck-umm :?
A little bit of wiggling and jiggling-it moves a little and gets stuck again so the wife says "lower it down before you kill yourself!" (I think she meant wait until I up your life insurance)
It comes down a bit then sticks again  More W @ G's the winch lock breaks and the whole lot comes crashing down
I CAN FIX IT was my first words after F*#K!!!!
In only the expression and words a wife can have-"NO YOU WONT :!: "
"You have a son that is over 6' and a son-in-law that is taller than him. Surley for a couple of beers they will lift it on and off for you."
Now I hate wasting beer but she did have a point and it would have been a lot cheaper than building a lift-but less fun
It was a great idea but I think I will run the next one past the wife before bolting for THE SHED
And yes I do need the do some house work in THE SHED :|
