Guess i'll be up REAL early tomorrow Alternatively, I could do a Bear Grylls and just take my car, a knife, and some parachute cord... Hopefully I can find a dead sheep somewhere to make a 'sheeping bag'.......

        • Not sure I like the sound of the sheeping bag mate.

Reminds me of a yarn about the kiwi that had a sheep with a full coat and was asked by an aussie about 'shearing' it, kiwi responded that we wasnt shearing that sheep with nobody...

            • Wife is shoe shopping, but will swing by the grocery store for a few 'things'. She is on 'food duty'. I just need to grab the tent and the chairs. Recovery gear is in the car already. Might pack a pair of jocks in case of any 'sphincter clenching' moments :-)

              • Alright gents! So far nothing packed, or ready. I have a small window of opportunity after leaving a birthday dinner tonight by hopefully 930pm. At least my maps are loaded!

I may be doing the mad dash up the freeway tomorrow. Ill be on channel 10 or 16 if I make a late start

And dont worry Dave, we shouldn't have any issues getting the fire started with about 180L of petrol available to us all... ye may want to bring a jerry can incase there's nothing left for you in the morning.

Im going to zip out later this afternoon to pick up some supplies... and some wood

I was thinking of bringing some duct tape, swiss army knife and a hairpin like macgyver for any roadside repairs.

                  • Geeze we can talk some shite. Ian, don't worry about a spare set of undies, it will be cold when you wake up so hit them against a rock at which time the frozen crusty bits will splinter off then just turn them inside out, fresh as!!!.

                          • Just picking up on a few things, remind me to tell you how you can get 8 days out of a set of jocks, and for those packing light I can show how you can wipe yourself using only 1 sheet of toilet paper!

Not quite Bear Grylls but my entire cooking equipment for the weekend consists of a kettle, a pair of tongs and some alfoil. As for repairs you only need 2 things.

                            1. if it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape

                            2. if it doesn't move and it should, use WD40.

Only 195 minutes of work before i hit the road, but who's counting.

                            Cheers Andrew

Andrew has just taken this to an all time low. First he will tell and then he will show. I'll just say Im glad I wont be there for the demostration that Andrew will give.

                              • You are right Nick. When you lay your head on your pillow tomorrow night, have pity for those of us gathered around some salt bush (half drunk) getting a 'hands-on' demonstration from Andrew

This is going to be one 'classic' weekend....
