Easy there Kav. Going to Bendethra is still the first choice of destination for us all. But there is no point going all the way down there if we don't have the time to do it properly. If everyone is able to leave on say the Friday, and that's enough time to get down to Bendethra and have a good weekend then that's what we can do. But if people can only spare the sat and sunday then, for that weekend, we may be better off going somewhere a little closer to sydney.

      hi guys,
i have been to bendethera 6 times...at all times i heve gone down there on
the easter long weekend or took the whole week off......i have gone to bendthera fro the dampier
fire trail, from sugarloaf road(easy) and from the merricumbene fire trail...the merricimbene fire trail is about 37 km's long..it
took 5 hrs to complete(stopping to enjoy the views).. 80% of it is low range..there is no stgraight stretch,,it is all downhill and uphill...
nothing hardcore just very steep....to give you an idea, when you the merricumbene trail from dry creek trail (off araluen road) you cross the
deua river and then you start the first climb..you go from elevation of about 70 meters to elevation of 600 meters within 300 meters...
the dampier fire trail is also steep but shorter....sugarloaf very easy....it is fantastic area......but you need 4 to 5 days to enjoy it
and one thing you do not when 4wdriving is do not rush....at the merricumbene trig the alevation is about 1200meters..for me is one of the
best areas to go to....i also like lithgow...been there lots of times....the thing with with all the firetrails they are always different and that is ehy we
      keep going back to them...
      that is my bit....

      nick....

Hi nick. I'm sure there must be some very steep hills, but your example is a gradient of more than 200%. I don't have my scientific calculator on hand but I'm estimating an angle of 60+ degrees based on your figures. That must be getting close to the angle needed to tip a Prado over.
