  • WA - Perenjori Area

Just spent a long weekend in the middle of the so-called Wildflower Season. We took the bitumen to Perenjori and then hit the red stuff eastwards. Played around in the bush between there and nearly to Paynes Find (Rothsay, Field's Find, Karara etc). A shocker of a season this year as far as flowers go, but at least we got the Prado out bush. Had a great trip and managed to avoid all the tourists. Once we left the bitumen, we only saw a couple of cars.

    getting dirty

the maroon looks great out here...

and, err, well...we avoided the tourists, but, err, not the tree

    Hiya Fishnut

That Maroon colour blends in well with the red dirt and it looks like you had a ball out in the bush.

.... but I'm dying to hear the story about the tree  :?

    Cheers

From the looks of the marks, that tree was definitely traveling too fast.. ....
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Looks like a nice and quite weekend fishnut... except for the cracking sound when that damn tree ran out and hit you  ... do tell .
Hopefully the damage isn't too extensive.
        Cheers, Leon
There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!

Yeah, I definately found the blind spot on the Prado.... Funny, I was literally crawling in reverse (~2kmh), heard the crunch, stopped and still couldn't see what I had clipped in the mirrors

I blame the tree - it was hiding behind the rear pillar. Anyway, it's my first ever insurance claim - first bingle in 20 years of driving... ops: It will all be shiny new by the Harvey weekend - but Chippy, I was thinking of replacing the bumper and wheel arch in white and start the transformation panel by panel

I was supposed to post this too, to show the extent of the wildflowers.... this was as good as it got, shame really. It has been a very dry season.

and I reckon the furkids enjoyed themselves as much as we did

Sounds like one of them there Ozzie pop-up trees - they wait in hiding until a car gets close enough then leap out and bite it in the butt.

We can certainly help with replacing the panels one at a time - just let us know if you want to just do random parts or whether you want a slow creeping white from the back to the front.

I also liked your earlier pic of the Prado in the driveway at home. I like the way you've got the Prado and the driveway the same colour - so the CIA spy sattelites can't see if you're at home   8)

            Cheers

              Hey Fishnut

I just remembered - I've got a perfectly good FRONT bumper - in pristine VIRGINAL WHITE - sitting in the shed. I'm sure it will help the transformation along

              Cheers

thanks for the offers, but I've decided white is just not meant to be on a maroon prado ... perhaps not meant to be on any prado????
