Yeah absolutely, it'll be wet everywhere. The only difference being that wheeny will involve more standing around helping/watching others, so won't be so fun IF it's raining on the day. Rain on the day - that's what it comes down to IMO.

I was considering Watagans but it has massive bog holes even without all this rain.

I'm happy to press ahead with Wheeny creek if that's the will of the masses, but it should be considered that this a track typically reserved for 4" trolls and cruisers so have the elements against us is going to make it interesting.... (winch time!)

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if we need a winch at the end of the day. That very first bit is bit steep.

As for the rest of the track, from what I've seen there's nothing steep, so at least we can't slip far

I'm still keen for wheeny, but not fussed if it changes either, and happy to help out in the rain. Every time I go 4wding it rains, at least there is no dust.

I'm happy to proceed as planned.
Meet up time and location remains the same.
If it ends up raining heavily on the day, we can then make a call whether to go to Newnes/Zig Zag instead.

Coil sprung live axles on a vehicle that has the highest ground clearance in stock form of any production 4wd ? I'd hope he made it through otherwise I don't think we have a chance.

Errrm that's what most Sydney Prado drivers do. All I'm saying is that if you went up to a guy with 6" lifted Patrol and said "you'll be fine, my mate made it through easily with his Unimog"..... never mind.

Thanks glen_ep, boomslang and Sako85 for an awesome day out. It was incredible how the unlocked GQ Patrol was able to traverse terrain that us Prado drivers either used twin lockers or a combination of rear locker plus winch to get through.

We unfortunately had to end the day early when the rain turned the tracks to mush. Clearance issues where ever present for everyone except Sako85 in the GQ (although glen_ep reckons his rig was fine ). I had to use the winch once to pull my front end back into line as I had got myself into a rather precarious position where I was a few feet away from rolling the Prado.

Boomslang's winch got good work out, being used 5 times if I remember rightly. As Boomslang said, it was a top day. I can't wait to go back when the weather is better and try to make it to the end. As glen_ep said in the OP, this a really hard core track for a Prado. I think the requirements are really to either twin lockers or a combination of a locker and a winch...... or a GQ

I'm working on pictures and vidoes from today as I type. I will hopefully be able to start posting some before the night is out.

                                LOL.. nice fine print.

And yes, my clearance was fine till I gave it too much right foot and hit the lower arm mount. I'm quite disappointed with my final attempt there, I could have crawled it with the new line.

                                Photos will be online tonight.
