NSW: Saturday 25th of Feburary Zig Zag Railway & Newnes SF Area

We're going to Newnes to explore some easy/medium tracks. We'll stop by the wombat holes for a bit of fun as always.

Please read the following disclaimer if you wish to participate on this trip. If you choose not to accept the terms & conditions therein, you are requested not to attend.
    http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...claimer-Notice ..claimer-Notice

    Track Difficulty:
The tracks we'll be doing are pretty easy for a new driver. There's often a bit of mud and dust at Newnes so there's normally a bit cleaning to do afterwards. There is optional moderate/hardcore stuff too for those that want it. Stock 90's and 150's are fine but 120's are a bit low in stock form, so expect scraping if you're bringing a 120 without a lift.

Meeting at: McDonalds at Richmond, cnr of March & Eastmarket Sts. at 8:00am, departing around 8:15 am http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&bi ... CBoQnwIwAA

Finishing time is flexible; if you want to leave early it won't be a problem (but you may need to navigate your own way out). We usually finish around 4 or 5pm.

Bring: Prado, morning tea, lunch, water/drinks, camera, air compressor/recovery gear if you have it, sense of adventure.

    UHF channel 28

    Attendees:

    Spitfireslw - 150
    Max - 150
    Dave - 150

They're just too scared to follow a mighty 80 series. Perfectly normal for Navara drivers

Well where to begin, what a action packed day full of fun and excitment. We ended up with the three 150 prados and a new triton. We aired down at zigzag then headed off with Dave leading the way. Some how we got onto a nice tight track that ended up gettin to tight and had to do a couple of 12 point turn arounds, unfortunitly the Matt (triton) got a little wedged.

After that we headed down Happy valley and then onto the wombat holes where Max did a tyre with a spectacular poooof of dust as the tyre rolled off the rim.

we then headed over to the "Diff breakers" but found some mud to play in on the way. Matt thought he would stick to the high ground but found himself stuck.

Then we headed down another power line track and back out through Happy valley to air up. Whist airing up Daves front tyre, it had other ideas and decided it was going down, the grandtreks where doing so well.

Great day guys and hope to do it again soon. All up 2 snaps, two tyre changes, one sideways drag and a lot of laughs. cheers guys....Movie to come.

Wow looks like a good day of action!
Any obvious reason for the tyre blow out?

Thanks Steve, Max and Matt for making it a great day. My old snatch strap got used a few times, tyres got changed, the march flies gave us a work out, the sun was shining, another great day out and lots of fun was had by all.

The only reason we could see for Max's tyre blowing was the angle it landed on after a bit of air time through the holes, no obvious damage anywhere.

As for my wonderful grandtrek, just one of those things. A little bit of something in the bead, it only leaked when it was pumped back up at the end of the day but the worst part, I was offered $130 for the unused spare if I bought either Mickey Thompson ATZ's or MTZ's during the week

Videos uploading, see if I can get some up tonight.

Big thanks to Steve for hearing the leak on my tyre, may have made for an interesting drive back home.

Great going guys looked like you have an adventurous day. Havnt seen a BF come off a rim like that before, what pressures was he running ?? Yeay maybe your right, come down at the wrong angle and all the weight transferred to to side of the tyre !! I was down at Son of Nissan trials today, I bottomed out twice, bent the sump guard and that was just getting out the joint LOL These 120's certainly are lower then the good old 90's. OME will fix that problem.........wife agreed, my chin nearly hit the floor.lol Well done guys, good pics Steve, looking forward to the video's as well..............Cheers Steve
