Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

More speed ??? I didn't want to get the roof rack dirty.  .. but you may have an idea there - WATER WINGS !
The Hilux washer jets worked a treat ... they cleared the screen beautifully.
What went through my mind ... F#%K ! .. Wrong line ! .. and when it dropped it went quick .. all I could do was keep the foot into it and hope it came out the other side ... and it almost did
You will notice that I picked the most champagne looking patch in the whole crossing
Today's jobs ........
1. Mud guard is back on
2. Number plate is back on
3. Car is washed and polished
4. Air intake is all clean and filter replaced
5. Engine oil checked ... all clear
6. Trans fluid checked ... all clear
7. Side steps are nearly straight again
8. Not touching the bash plates until next weekend ... when I get Marty to have a look at my plans for a new set of 3 mm steel ones
9. Front mud guard straightened
10. Touch up paint on most of the stone chips
11. Mud mats removed and hosed out
12. Most of the mud removed from most of the interior surfaces
13. Rest of the rubbish cleaned out from the interior ... including the kids
14. Engine bay got a nice soapy hand wash
15. Liberal dose of CRC on anything that looked vaguely electrical .. including the cat
and you're dead right Russ .. it takes a bloody good truck to cop that and still be going for Monday's trip to work ... and the Prados are a bloody good truck.
Far out guys, that looks awesome. Chippy, when you want your snorkel fitted? HAHA! Do agree though, next weekend is not the time for sixteen cars to do that but I would love to go back there with some of you sometime! Just fitted slider steps a couple of weeks ago so might aswell use them!!
Chippy,
First it's sand, now it's death by drowning
What will it be next week :?:
Oh that's right WORK
At least you were having fun,

07 Silver Ash, GXL, D4D, Auto. Lifestyle rear cargo rack. 2500 kg Tow bar with Tekonsha elec brake controller, Rear dust deflector, Mio Sat nav, (Still trying to fault the Dunlop AT20's)
1. cleaned the interior. Used meguiars interior and cloth cleaner. Fantastic .
2. washed the car outside.
3. removed the rear bumper and rear passenger side flare. The bumper was then given a dose of boiling water and gentle persuasion and the rear ding is back to about 85%- 90%+. Has a bit of missing paint but I have the touchup paint, linda is going to speak to a panel/painter at her work to see the best way to go.
4. with the rear bumper off I had a better chance to get water into extra areas not usually cleaned. Like the lip around the rear fuel tank, The rear cross member etc.
 Note. The rear cross member(that the toe hitch is mounted) can hold an amazing amount of dirt, sand, pebbles and rocks. I Flushed all that crap out. and it is a potential rust area as there is minimal holes for natural drainage. You have been warned.
(side note) One of the boys that came in my car was bitten by something on the day.
He had, what I would say, were the start of potentially serious symptoms.
From swelling of the bite site, pain travelling up his arm, nausea etc.
Chippy had in his car some antihistamine's and some stingoes.
That seemed to stop all symptoms and averted a premature end of the day and a trip to the medical centre. Thanks here go to chippys crew.
When we handed him back to his mother I was glad he was healthy.
She mentioned once she was on a tagalong trip and was stung by a bee. The (nurse) on the trip used onion to ease those symptoms. An Old wifes remedy that works. I wonder how many others are out there???
Next addition to the car is a more comprehensive (bush) first aid kit to complement the one allready in the car....

After yesterday I found myself researching winches last night.
If it wasn't for Jeff's winch things would have been very "interesting".
Today was 5 hrs of cleaning!

Great shots! you guys are nuts,i dont think il be taking the grande down that track not unless i can borrow some floats of one of the sea planes out at perth airport.
Jeff s i can vouch for the oinion trick it works a treat, i got stung on the neck took the barb out applied onion for 10 min no swelling at all.

Hence the reason we have moved this weekend's trip to Nanga. The tracks are a lot tamer while still having some fun wheelin' opportunities. There's also more space and the terrain is more forgiving.
It's a social meet and greet as well as a bit of a 4WD play ... but the last thing we want is people going home pissed because something got damaged.
