  • Pelverata Falls-Tassie

Hillary finally turned wheels in anger today. It was a short trip south of Hobart to Pelverata Falls. We went with a local 4x4 club.
The drive in is not too bad. A bit rocky but nothing too adventures. At one section there is a climb over some rocks which looked worse than it was.
Finally after 2 hours we made into the falls and you can see how windy it was!

On the way out we stopped to play at an old sawmills dumping ground.
This where the damage started! Mangled one side step and pop off the rear bumper several times. Nothing big though.
    .

after getting stuck we tried to leave but the way out was either a bridge which was too wide for the Prado or back through a big hole and up a short but steep bank.

    Heading to the rough stuff.

    The short climb.

A good day in all with no major damage. Will have to look at getting those sliders!

Really impressed with the vehicle. There was a few places where I thought it would not go but it did it well.
The new All Terrains were great as well.

    Cheers Strahan.

I find it hard to tel Strahan ... is that a white Prado in grey mud ... or a grey Prado in white mud ???

Looks like you had a ball. Just remember ... side steps are the sacrificial anode they put in Prados to let you know where the ground is

    Cheers

          Nice pics.

What is it with this weekend, prados, mud, damaged side steps, damaged bumpers etc, etc.???

Sure it wasnt and unlucky date or full moon something?
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.
