Sure am, (schedule permitting) let us know what your thinking..(Tomorrow, Sunday is out for me...to short notice).
I was saying to a friend only today, we should do a trip up to Bunyip for a play. Not far away...
However I believe the tracks are closed till 1st November, so for now I will only be using it for my local firewood run.
The next place I head to is Rawson / Walhalla above Moe.
Im flexible with time & place/s i went up to Labatouche a few w/e,s ago to check it out & all the tracks were closed, new gates installed. Rawson/walhalla would be ok, might get a bit of snow up there.
Other than that, Narby is sometimes ok if they have,nt closed that off too, have,nt been there few a few years now, so not sure what tracks are the go

Hey fellas I might be able to make it! We used to camp at Rawson as kids every Easter and their are some good tracks up that way but haven't been up there in years
2005 GXL Prado, Bilstein Shockers, King Springs, IPF 900xs, Steel ARB Bullbar, 12000lbs winch, GME 3540 UHF, Weaco 50L & 38L, Dash mat, carpet and rubber Prado mats, awesome after market head unit BF Goodrich & more to come
I should be OK if I lock it in early.. Just need to decide Sat or Sun (Sat better for me....recover / fix stuff on Sun)
Go to rawson allot, good tracks easy to hard. I have some digital maps with routes I have taken previously. (Hema High Country Maps)
Goto Youtube and have a look at "Rawson Deep Creek" (Hard, scratching guaranteed )..
Mormon town track is a bit of fun (easy, still easy in the wet) White Star track (above Dam)good fun with challenges (easy dry, medium to challenging in wet, due to one specific spot (steep, couples of small ledges) with lots more challenging tracks around this area..
Last time up there (2 weeks ago) got severe weather with snow closer to Wood Point. We were supporting a group of Dirt Bike riders for a two day trip (Rawson to Woods Point).... See this Video of the Trip. (2 parts)
I can confirm that I am able to attend Saturday, I will work on a couple of options (route).
easy to Medium Route - Couple of challenges but minimal risk of damage
Medium to Hard - More challenges, Scratches guaranteed more stress and more chance on winching.
Basically this means a trip with or without Deep Creek tracks ;-)
My preference is Easy to medium, we get to see more and cover more tracks + some time in Snow @ St Gwinear.
I will review the forum guide lines and then start a new thread for Rawson with the date set.
(P.S. I see you have the ST MAXX same as me......Interesting.....It will come down to the driver!! ;-)
Sounds Great Bernie, Have,nt had my ST Maxx,s off road yet used to have the old ST,s & loved em, did spike one thru the sidewall thou so im hoping these are stronger there now. I just bought a Tigerz 11 9,000lb winch from sale at Lilydale, if i get time i,ll have it on in time for trip....bargain at 495 with plasma rope....would have prefered the 12000lb but they were well gone by 10-10.30 am.
Cheers

We have a few track closures around Rawson / Walhalla at this time of the year, so I will review and let you know if it is still worth a trip to play in the tracks directly behind rawson (which is fun and safe especially when it is wet) and across into the Tanjil State Forest..and a snow trip. But for now....
This Locks off most of the area's directly between Rawson and Walhalla, above Walhalla are your Deep Creek track and more however if it is Wet I would stay clear of them. Maiden Town Track looks to be Open. This is a big loop around Walhalla (easy).
Up top... (Closer to Woods Point)
4wd track - Closed
Low Saddle Track - Closed
Also, have a look at this previous Trip report from Hookedon4wding, these guys did Deep Creek
I am going up there on the 9th Jul for 3 days. I go up every Jul school holidays with the kids. There are lots of track options, but many are hard to do as day trips. We do not normally get out of the bush until well after dark and we have just enough energy to get to the pub for dinner. I would hate to drive back to Melbourne after those days.
